This is asinine. Kizer has been one of the top rated QBs in all of FBS. His interception was bad but before that he was doing incredibly well.

Most teams can win with an offense averagin 30+ pts /game. Our running game has been almost non-existent and Kizer has still manager to churn out the yards.

Absurd to talk about putting Wimbush in. He wouldn't be an upgrade right now. Kizer is a baller.

I can't believe this actually has to be discussed.

Spot on!

The way Kelly answered the question about Malik. It almost sounded like Malik may have checked out mentally already because of his attitude as the #2 QB.

So this may open up the door for Wimbush to get mop up duty at the end of games, if they have the opportunity, because Coach may see the writing on the wall.

The worst thing would be to play Malik in games then Malik transfer and Kizer go pro. That would leave Wimbush with hardly any game reps, except for his freshman year.

Just a thought.

This is my concern. The problem is whether Kizer leaves for the NFL or not is a big unknown. If he comes back, wasting Wimbush's redshirt doesn't make sense because he will only have one year of eligibility left after Kizer leaves. If he does go to the NFL, Wimbush would most likely only stay two more years anyway and could use the reps. Glad I'm not the one making the decision.

Is this for real?

No freaking way he plays Wimbush with 3 losses and two capable QB's.

And those two capable QB's, are the least of our problems right now.

No. It's not for real. Go back and read the thread. Someone threw a wild a$$ed guess out there, that the boldest statement Kelly could make to the team, to get their attention, was to change QBs. And from there, people started talking like it was actually something Kelly proposed.

Sampson has already said the Zaire is transferring for his 5th year somewhere else. So Zaire is not an option. It will be Wimbush, Book and Avery Davis next year.

I have zero qualms with Kizer. That said, I would like seeing Wimbush play some.

Kizer is not definitely gone. In fact, if the year keeps going the way it has, he would most likely come back.

I would let Wimbush redshirt as long Kizer doesn't get injured. Let Ian Brooks play during mop up duty.

If someone forced me to bet all my Vbucks today I would bet on him returning. He has incredible potential, however he does miss some throws, has mis-reads, and holds the ball too long. He could use another year in college. Would I blame him for leaving if he could go in the 1st two rounds. No.

Assuming he keeps up his play/improves, he'll be graded into the first round. Kizer has everything NFL teams dream of in a QB. Can't see him passing that up.

I believe Kizer is gone with a first round grade... I would never burn Wimbush redshirt for mop up duty... Give him 2-3 great years as a starter.. Our O Line comes back next year and run game should be much improved to ease Wimbush into playing

Kizer and Malik will be gone. BK will remain our HC. And Pelini will be our DC. None of this will become fact until after the year, but it's all going to happen.

Pelini isn't coming here as a DC... He has done a decent job at Youngstown St and I can see him getting HC offers from a FBS school

I agree with this 100%.

Technically if Kizer declared early enough, it could sway Malik to stay... but I think he has checked out to the point where nothing could make him stay. Not sure I care if he leaves at this point either. The only thing it effects is the quality of the backup QB.

I don't think Malik sticks around for his 3rd different QB competition. I also don't think he goes to OSU.

Youngstown is not anything special. They missed the FCS playoffs last year....the 24 team field included a 6-5 team from the same conference as ysu. Every team with a pulse gets in.

With what we have on defense right now Bo Pelini would be a nightmare hire. He would last 24 hours here before having an aneurysm

Agree- why would he want to stick around this train wreck for another year?

I CANT WAIT to see what this kid can do. I think he's gonna be great. I really really hope he starts next year. We need a new face to our offense.
