What does this mean? He outta football?
I did not think that he was still in.

We've had fun debating the best RB duos at ND and competition is fierce.

Not was crowded for the WR X-Y tandem cup, I would guess Boykin-Claypool is best or 2nd.

I would say Floyd + Golden. Technically Floyd was a Z I guess, but when we had a FB on the field there were only 2 WRs so I'd consider that a duo.

They were good for sure. I think it was because Floyd was a true frosh in 2008 and injured in the heart of 2009 that they only briefly shone in the sun.

Waters and Rocket maybe? They were not purely receivers.

What’s messed up about Floyd getting hurt in 09 was we didn’t lose a game during his injury but when he came back we went winless. Just an utter disappointment of a year…my first year on IE

Looking at stats, it's kinda wild how little we passed in those days.

In 1988, Tony Rice attemped 138 passes. Watters was our leading "receiver" with 15 catches. RB Mark Green had 14. Ismail and Derek Brown were tied for third with 12.

Last year Carr threw 293 passes and we had five guys with 25 catches or more.
In 2024, Leonard threw 403 passes. Watters would have been 10th on the team in receptions. Granted, we played several more games. But still.

And we do not exactly fling it all over the yard, by modern standards.

Leonard played 4 more games so basically the same game attempts as Carr. Hard not to want to run more with Love and Price. Most of us complain about not running enough.
