Great size...our success at developing TE's will definitely give us a shot with any elite TE. Our depth at the position may prevent us from taking one this year, but we'll definitely be in the running for this guy and his classmates.

With a possible miss at TE this year, look for Adam to be one our main targets in the '13 cycle. Received an early verbal offer, and will be visiting in June.

I believe there's already a Breneman topic. He was offered several months ago.

I know he was offered a while ago, but the '13 profile segment was just opened so I created profiles in the archive for those prospects I knew of that intially were offered or had early mutual interest. I would be delighted if a mod could merge or delete the repeat threads where appropriate.

Coming for the USC game. I think he leads off the 2013 class.

The fact that they're throwing screens to this kid and putting him back deep for punt returns is a real testament to his athleticism.

Pre-season Interview
Link

Pre-Season Interview with Adam Breneman - Cedar Cliff - TE/DE - '13 , 6'5", 225 LBS.

J. Cleezy: How did you prepare for the 2011 season?

A. Breneman: I participated in a Badger Sport 7v7 Camp, the Nike Football Training Camp at PSU, and PSU's prospect camp. I worked hard training all summer, getting bigger, faster, and stronger. I gained about 15 pounds since last season.

J. Cleezy: What are some of your goals for your team and yourself for the 2011 season?

A. Breneman: Team: I think we have a very solid team this year. Our goals for this season are to win the Keystone championship and win in the playoffs. Personal: My goals are to be a 1,000 yard receiver, be named first team all-state, and most importantly, just dominate the field of play.

J. Cleezy: What are some of your best attributes as a football player?

A. Breneman: At Tight end, what sets me apart from everyone else is my receiving ability. I play some WR in high school as well. My best assets are my speed and my hands. At Defensive End, I have really good lateral speed and I am very quick off the ball which makes it hard for lineman to block me.

J. Cleezy: Who are some of your influences on and off the field?

A. Breneman: On the field, I try to model my play after Brent Celek, Tony Gonzalez, Kyle Rudolph, and Jason Witten. They are all great tight ends that catch the football exceptionally well. Off the field, my mom and my dad have the biggest influence on me. They keep me humble and motivated. I have been very blessed to be raised in a great family. I also owe a lot to Coach Cantafio.

CLEEZY'S EXTRA POINT ON ADAM BRENEMAN

Breneman currently holds offers from : Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida State, Maryland, Virginia, Boston College, Rutgers, and Temple. Kudos to whomever send the memo out on Breneman. Make no mistake about it, he's in the Top 2 discussion as far as best Tight Ends in the state of Pennsylvania, with stud Colin Thompson from Archbishop Wood being the other person in the discussion. He also lines up as a wide receiver. Either way, he should command double teams because if the ball is placed anywhere in his vicinity, he's most likely to win any post-ups or jump balls at 6'5, 220 lbs. Don't be mislead though, he can get DOWN the field for long pass plays as well. He's a big part of Cedar Cliff's passing game and will be a force to reckon with on the defensive side of the ball as well.

Feels Alabama, Maryland, Notre Dame and Penn State are recruiting him the hardest.

Visited Maryland for the Miami game and has four more trips scheduled to Notre Dame, Penn State, Rutgers and Virginia.

Good article at ISD dated Aug 30th. Sounds like a really great kid.
Breneman Stands Out For A Reason

His coach said “They’ve told me he’s going to be their number one recruit in the tight end category and that they weren’t going to recruit another kid next year to leave the door open for him,”

ISD also says that he's going to the PSU-Alabama game as well as the Alabama-LSU game. I'm trying to not read to much into him watching Alabama twice. If we were playing at PSU this year, I'm assuming he would want to go to that as well.
