Going to see Muse next week so I've been listening to them quite a bit recently.

Sons Of Bill (Virginian alt-country/roots rock band)
Girls Guns and Glory (Massachusetts alt-country band)

And a heap of blues music on top.

Breaking out the old funk this fine Friday night, and rockin' it on VINYL.

Johnny Guitar Watson. Bad *** blues/funk guitarist of the 50s/60s and his somewhat disco funk 70s.

"Superman Lover" at 10:30 and "Ain't that a bitch" at 16:20 (pretty fitting for this week).

Funk with me.

I've been an on Alt-J binge for about two months now. All of you would hate them. But yeah, that's what I've been listening to. Many regard their album as the best one of 2012.

So nice to know that there are a few that are not tone deaf or immune to simple (though not always) and moving lyrics as . S&G were a huge part of my high school maturation process.

Simon and Garfunkle were/are a great team. Paul's voice wasn't as pure as Art's, but together they resonated. Paul's words and Art's soaring soprano sang "from the mountain."

Hell, even my cousin (a priest) incorporated "Bridge Over Troubled Water" in his services as a hymn to hope and love.
