Great to watch Shane Morris realllllly struggle with this accuracy and consistency in the QB challenge as well. Think he threw up the lowest score.

Under Armour All-America Game

Outside Linebacker:
Alex Anzalone, Wyomissing (Pa.)
This could be argued for the Notre Dame commitment or five-star Matthew Thomas (Miami, Fla./Booker T. Washington). The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Anzalone has been the most consistent linebacker all week, rarely out of position as he is on video. The combination of instincts, diagnosing and play finishing ability with fundamental tackling and plus hands have shown daily.

Also considered - Thomas and Kendell Beckwith (Jackson, La./East Feliciana).

Nice job young man... your background [genes and family] and your disciplined efforts are shining the path on a great future for you. Glad to have the whole Anzalone clan as part of NDs family. It's going to be so much fun to see you and your 2013 buddies line up for the Grand Old Alma Mater. Glorious days ahead.

The Johnny Zone v Isaac will be quite the match up over the next few years let alone during the UA game.

He is moving extremely well out there. Not gonna have great stats but if you watch him on each play he is very good in pursuit

I just flipped to the game and saw him make a couple nice plays...ran that returner down and then a pass break up. Looks good.

Wow, and Folston with the pick? Nice work for ND commits during the two or three minutes I've been watching.

Alex just looks the part to me. He just presents as a hard-nosed football player. Classic linebacker. So glad he is Irish!

And he looks all of 6'3 with good length. Not saying he should be rated higher because he already, but I am more excited to have him a part if the class

Really impressed he could stick with Ryan Green the way he did. Getting that type of coverage skills from an ILB is huge.

I always loved the way he covered just questioned the way he tackled, still do but that can be taught.

Saw a picture of him and the other Irish recruits from the game. Is his height measurement right? Him and Redfield are both listed at 6'3 but he looked like he was atleast 2 inches taller than Max.

Still makes me nervous every time this kid's thread gets bumped. He is going to be a stud at ND.

I am amazed that he played in HS at safety. Kid is huge and can really move.

without seeing how he was used in HS i can see the merit in playing him at safety. im sure at LB he would be double and triple teamed when at safety he can come up unblocked and told to be super agressive against the run and blow up plays. maybe this is not the true reason, but i can see doing this and if he's athletic enough to do it, more power to him

He only played safety as a sophomore when he weighed 170 pounds. Between that and his junior year he blew up and moved to LB. Was All State LB as a junior and senior.

Wait till Longo gets him...

Will be fun to see how the comparisons between him and Deeb come out next fall and thereafter.

Deeb is smaller but nastier, meaner and more aggressive. Alex is bigger, stronger, and quicker but (right now) doesn't have that desire to punish mentality.

I agree, I'll go out on a limb and say that Deeb’s nastiness will rub off on the other LB's. I can see coach D praising that type of mentality and getting the other LB's on that level.
