Isn't Armstead also attending the USC game?

All the information states that his visit is possible but not definite for the USC game, per BGIF and Bery's posts on Arik's thread. Hope he visits during that game, but I'm wary to put him on there until it is actual definite.

No prob...that's why it surprised me that we seem to be sitting so good with him.

because its not his official that weekend.

Yeah, obviously. I did not see him listed for an official visit anywhere on the list. I'm also pretty sure he is the only commit who is listed as taking an unofficial visit this fall. I'm just wondering why that is. Saying that his visit that weekend is not his official doesn't really add any information or answer my question.

Does anyone have any idea WHY Mark is taking an unofficial visit that weekend, opposed to an official, especially in light of the fact that he apparently has not scheduled an official yet? And if you don't know specifically what went into Mark's decision, does anyone have any idea why a recruit might do that?

I believe his official is being used for the Awards Banquet.

Can everyone cool it on the sassiness? Seriously?

Just looking at the amount of highly touted recruits for the USC game.... It's staggering how pivotal a win could be on that day.

A win would be huge but win or lose the biggest thing IMO is how the recruits enjoy the game day atmosphere. ND got recruits on their visit when they lost so that's why I think it's not doomsday if they lose. But fingers crossed ND takes the victory.

Thanks, TT. I wasn't trying to be a **** about it but its annoying when you ask a question trying to get some information and you get a flippant answer in response. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.

TT is right in that he wants to come to the USC game with the rest of our commits, yet take his official after the season for the Banquet. He is not the only ND commit taking an unofficial either -- Ronald Darby is unofficially "visiting" for the Maryland game when we are at Fed Ex field, and both Perkins and Day have intimated they may very well come for more than one game this fall.

That makes sense. Day and Perkins are pretty local and can get to games without a big ordeal, and Darby has a similar situation with the game at Fed Ex Field. I do get why Mark would want to be at the USC game even if he were planning to take his official a different week, I was just confused because looking at the list it wasn't clear that he was taking his official some other weekend. I was just looking for some clarification on that point, so thanks to you guys for helping me out.

How many is too many?

How many is too many?

Is anyone else wondering if maybe we have too many recruits coming to one game (the USC game)? For some of these recruits it may be our only chance to get them on campus. With too many recruits on campus at the same time, will they (and their parents) get the attention they want when being recruited. Their face time with Kelly is going to be somewhat limited. Are we facing the possibility of some of our recruits (or their parents) feeling slighted on their visit?

Or perhaps, the large numbers will encourage bonding and we will recruit in groups who want to play together?

This seems like the more likely scenario to me.

There will be a large group of blue-chip recruits, all of whom will either have met before at camps or at least have heard of each other. They'll be blown away by the atmosphere of the first ND night game in over 20 years, and they'll get to experience that together. Add in an Irish victory, and it's a recipe for several big-time verbals that weekend.

I wish we could arrange this sort of thing every year.

Hey Golden, what gives with the UCONN fan comment in the closed thread? That is messed up.

Lol I only said that because they won the most recent national championship. He was madly in love with Malzahn and Auburn because they won the most recent championship in CFB. Clearly a bandwagon fan of whoever is winning.

I got no beef with Uconn.

Sheldon Day will be visiting

Per 247, he may bring his teammate and top 2013 LB prospect Tim Kimbrough as well.

Jason Sapp says Ian Thomas and "a recruit committed elsewhere" will be at the Air Force game. Any idea who this recruit is?
