Nevada offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, who has approximately 30 scholarship offers, chose to make Arkansas his first official visit over the weekend. As reported in Tuesday’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, he came away impressed after watching the Razorbacks defeat Auburn 38-14 on Saturday.

“It met my expectations,” Stanley said. “Just the crowd and how they were loud the whole time and everyone was into the game.”

Stanley, 6-7, 285, 5.0 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman also liked the traditional dinner at a local restaurant recruits enjoy while on their visits to Arkansas.

“The Catfish Hole was real fun,” Stanley said. “I enjoyed hanging out with the players a lot and the game was really fun, too. ”

Receiver coach Kris Cinkovich and offensive line coach Chris Klenakis have teamed up to talk to Stanley in the recruiting process and he credits their constant contact for much of his interest in the Hogs.

Arkansas redshirt freshman Rohan Gaines was paired with Stanley for his weekend visit.

“He was a real good host,” Stanley said. “We connected within like 5 seconds after meeting each other. We’re real tight.”

Stanley, who plans to make an official visit to Notre Dame and three other yet to be named schools, fit well with the current Razorbacks.

“I felt real comfortable around the team,” Stanley said. “They’re all real friendly. “

This board would have a melt down if a recruit said, "met expectations". Hopefully he has an 'exceeds' or 'blows away' on the 22nd.

I agree that you want to "blow away" a recruits expectations, however, he may have had extremely high expectations. Meeting them may seal the deal. Unfortunately for us, we don't know what those expectations are. Lets hope they were low for the Razorbacks.

Apparently Stanley won't be visiting for SC due to some personal issues but will reschedule. This is from ISD.

This seems to happen quite a bit recently for such a big game. Do you feel this is similar to the Ian Thomas reschedule? The coaches may feel very good about some of the other linemen coming USC weekend. All the less Ronnie will get more attention coming to a later game.

I seen you were from the South, so I just assumed you were serious. Who knows it may be a two in one!

What's his deal with Peat? I got my blueandgold magazine today and it said that he has already addressed that he won't go to the same program as Peat. Anyone else hear about this or have info?

That is odd if true. Peat will be at the SC game correct? Maybe that is the personal issue that made Stanley cancel his visit?
