So as the head coach, you would start Malik on Saturday(?).

Yes. USC will be preparing for Golson, I'd love to see USC's players & coaches reaction when Malik would run out, I'd love to hear the fans reaction seeing Malik instead of Golson.

I would use a 2-QB system on Saturday against USC.

Concerning the Tommy talk, don't forget that Tommy came in a couple of times in 2012 relieve Golson.

- So what, don't fumble the ball...no picks would help too. But them preparing means nothing...they've prepared for every QB all year. Hundley ate their lunch.

- USC's reaction would be one of smiles...early Xmas gift.

- I would "surprise" them with a loaded field, smash mouth down their esophagus. Not Malik...he'll get his time, maybe.

I didn't get to watch Saturday but with all the talk of EG and BK seeming to be at odds, this thought came to me.

Will EG graduate by the end of the year? Since next year is a fifth year for him, is he eligible to go play somewhere else immediately?

This isn't my preference, I still think he is the best option at QB, but if he is feeling the pressure or if his relationship with BK isn't so great, this may come into play.

There is a zero percent chance of this happening short of:
1. Golson running afoul of something or otherwise being incapable of returning to ND for a 5th year.
2. Zaire beating him out in spring ball.

Both seems like incredibly long shots.

Just curious. Do you still feel the same way today?

Is Golson set to graduate this Spring? TMB on Rivals is already heating up w/ Golson transferring to South Carolina after the bowl game.

i think at this point he needs a change of scenery. if he gets his degree i'd say best of luck and south carolina would be a nice fit for him.

of course watch him come in today and do well and i'll eat my words

I would like this. Especially if MZ lights it up today.

Also will free up some space for a QB battle between Zaire, Kiser, and Wimbush.

Yea.....always good to be one injury away from a rs freshman or true freshman being the man for a must win season.

I'm sorry, I would rather have that then a kid who looks like he doesn't wanna be there and every throw makes you cringe.

The local radio stations here in Columbia, SC started to chat about this yesterday. No one seems to know if EG will graduate this spring though.

You are ignoring all of the good EG did. Yes, he fell late in the year. His confidence was obviously gone, but EG is a great talent and has done a lot of good for ND.

I would much rather have EG and MZ as our numbers 1 and 2 as opposed to complete lack of experience at the most important position on the field.

I get that approach, but I'm big on body language and leadership at the most important position.

The team needs a kid with Jameis Winston (on the field) type attitude. Somebody that's always leading the charge and getting his teammates fired up.

If I was a player on the team, I would confront him about his attitude, but I see nobody has.

If Everett were to transfer he wouldn't hurt my feelings, instead of going to South Carolina he should go to a MAC team where the competition would be much easier. If he stays...ehh whatever.

Golson could get his degree in May and then transfer and be eligible right away. That's what Wulfeck, the punter from Wake, did when he transferred to ND.

Unless there is some stuff going on behind the scenes, I still think he is our starter in 2015 though.

I'm having a real difficult time understanding why people would want EG to leave. If he left we'd go into next season with a starting QB with little experience and two backups with zero experience. Plus they're mobile QBs so they're more likely to get hurt.

Fans can be really, really stupid sometimes.

A lot of people want leaders at QB. I'd take better leadership over a little more talent any day of the week. And so would most coaches in America.

I'm sure most wanted Rees to leave at some point. Would have been a 9-10 win season in 2012 without him and about a 6-win season last year without Rees.

You can never have enough QB depth. I'm sure OSU fans are happy that Cardale Jones stuck around and never transferred.

COMPLETELY agree with this.

EG had a very rough year overall, but it wasn't long ago he was on the Heisman list. How quickly people forget.

Also, don't really want him to leave. I want him to be the backup, but I don't see Kelly having the balls to do it.

People need to get over the "experience" thing. Experience is a fine attribute, but it's irrelevant if the inexperienced guy is BETTER. Who would you have started in Super Bowl XXXVI? Tom Brady had 16 games under his belt. Drew Bledsoe had nine years. Should the Colts bench Andrew Luck just because his backup has over 5,000 career passing attempts and luck only has about 1,800? Of course not.

He never belonged on that list. Never ever ever ever ever. His hype was based on pounding Rice (big whoop) and Michigan (who turned out to be horrible), and one (admittedly) clutch throw against Stanford in a game in which he otherwise played poorly.

I still think you are discounting what happened to EG's confidence. The first five/six games of the season he didn't show the same kind of attitude he did late in the season. He was talking to wide-outs, cheering on teammates(even MZ when he had that long run early in the season), was more attentive to BK, etc.
