So his mediocre year earns first team, and Jaylon's phenomenal one earns 2nd. Sounds about right

Maybe its based off potential?? Not even joking, maybe he gets it cause he is still projected to be one of the top TE drafted.

CBS draft position rankings also have him listed as the top TE: NFL Draft - 2015 NFL Draft Prospects - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

Also did a quick search and the leading stat TE's go to FIU and Georgia State, so doubt they will get any recognition. Doesn't look like to many TE are putting up numbers in the power conferences.

I thought O'Leary was widely considered the #1 TE?

After the Jace Amaro fiasco last year with the Mackey Award I think there is more of an emphasis on In-Line TE's being recognized

Kiper has Koyack rated as the #2 TE, behind Devin Funchess.

Koyack is no Niklas as a blocker, but he is still a damn good blocker. Plus Koyack is a more fluid athlete than Niklas.

I'm sorry if this has been addressed somewhere else, but is Koyack eligible for a 5th year? It looks like he played sparingly his first two seasons.

Nope. He played as a freshman.

if he played, then no, he's not eligible.

This is his last year of eligibility but one can play in 5 years as long as you were shut down before the cutoff for medical reasons in at least one of the seasons.

I'm aware how the NCAA dictates eligibility.

Cutoff is playing in 30% or less of your teams games that season before missing the rest of the season due to whatever injury a player sustains.

Koyack did not miss any time due to injury, and is not eligible for a fifth year.

That maybe, but I don't remember him playing at all past the Michigan game in 2011.

Just checked the participation reports for WF and SU in '11, and Koyack shows up on both. Pretty sure he was on multiple ST units as a freshman.

He was the backup TE and the blocking TE in 2011. He played in every game

Is his lack of production on BK, Golson, or himself?

I don't understand why he isn't putting up huge numbers with all the weapons we have to distract the opposing defense.

I don't think that Golson sees the middle of the field well. It seems that the majority of our passes are to the outside or deep (and most of the deep passes are to the outside). I am not sure if the problem is Golson's height or that he doesn't go through the progressions well.

Good question. It seems that BK has completely abandoned the TE up the seam route which has worked so well in the recent past. I was actually anxious to see Smythe take over such duties as he seems to have above average hands.

Look NW did attacking the middle of the field. Why not go after the worst coverage defenders on the field; the LBs?

Todd McShay has him as the #3 rated TE. It seems like Golson just isn't looking for him.
