A few days ago on facebook there was a crazy Miami fan that something like "go to the U or screw you" He responded saying " saying something like that will get someone not interested in your college." I know I'm probably overanalyzing that, but hopefully it wasn't just a coincidence that it was Miami. Hope it made an impression.

I don't believe that article for a second. He didn't have anything in there we haven't already read. I think he may have been trying to get a jump on the story to be the "first to report." Call me stupidly optimistic, but I'm not buying that article as legitimate.

I'm in a close age group, and our generation is big on sites like fb and twitter.i think it's cool to get to know these kids, something we've not been able to do before.

I really like your interpretation of FaceBook...
I actually believe it can be used as a tool to get to know people and learn from others...
Plus, millions of people are "friends" with people like Will Smith and whatnot...
So why aren't they considered creeps?

I will tell you one word/phrase of advice. Keep your page clean. When employers look at prospective candidates, you can tell a LOT about those people by their personal pages. You being young, realize these sites are no more than people being nosy.
Sure, some use it for networking, but most just use it to be nosy. My myspace page is long gone and facebook for me has never existed.
If I need to correspond/network, I'll do it the old fashion way. And no, not by telegraph or messenger pigeon.

I completely agree as far as when it comes to employment.
But thankfully FB has made it so you can completely privatize your page so no one can view your page unless accepted.
