I would love to get this guy, but I just don't see it happening. Smells like the SEC to me, but I do hope he prefers the snow

Announced his top 10, and we're not in it:

Georgia, Florida State, LSU, Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina, Michigan and Duke.

He added Duke, saying that academics are important to him (LOL), but he did take out Tennessee in order to put Duke in there, so there's one nice thing about it...

Marcus Lattimore names three of schools in his top five

Marcus Lattimore names three of schools in his top five

Highly-touted ESPNU 150 Watch List running back Marcus Lattimore revealed three of his top five to affiliate Web site DuckTerritory.com.

Lattimore stated that Penn State, North Carolina and Oregon were in his top five and that several other schools are vying for the other two spots. DuckTerritory adds that Florida State and South Carolina may be the two schools most likely to round out the group.

FSU and SCA are conjecture by the DuckTerritory reporter.

Just announced his retirement. Knee issues were just too much.

Edit: was reported by Schefter, but it looks like his camp has yet to confirm the report.

Kid had a heck of a future ahead in the NFL before that devastating knee injury. He's a really good kid. Wish him the very best of luck in the future.

I really hate to hear this. He is a really good kid and I hoped he would be able to come back from the injuries. He has had a tremendous attitude throughout his adversity. Good luck Marcus

Hopefully either he'll find success in another walk of life or serve as an example of why football factories are terrible decisions, to help keep others from going to schools that provide little value to their student-athletes.

the kid should be a poster boy for the importance of the 40 year decision, unfortunately the biggest impact his injury has had was making kids turn Pro earlier least they suffer the same cruel injury fate :(

Yep. Me being a 49ers fan I was happy to see them draft him and was hoping he'd recover. But, unfortunately, he didn't and there is more to life than football. Wish him all the best though.

Didn't he suffer 2 gruesome injuries? I hope he can find some type of gainful employment.

He did. 2011 against Mississippi State and then again in 2012 against Tennessee. He worked really hard to come back after the first one. Same knee - two injuries.

He got tons of carries, but really!? I could have sworn this was the result of a couple unfortunate, freaky knee injuries.

250 carries as a freshman. 555 in three years where the last two were cut short due to injuries. Kid has a lot of heart.

feel for the kid. dont wish bad breaks like that on anyone.
that last injury was brutal to watch. (still makes me cringe thinking abut it)

glad he took out the insurance policy:
$1.7M untaxable coming his way so that should get him off to a good start in whatever he choses to pursue.
