Seems to me that what happened to Danny happens to me alot. After playing sport or intense exercising i can get migraines in my right temple and the left side of my body will get numb (not paralysed or anything) and also the vision in my left eye will be very blury. This can last anything from 1 to 24 hours. Ive had this happen since i was 12 years old. I will try and combat it by hydrating and taking some supplements as a preventative measure but if its really bad i take Panadol or other normal migraine relief. Ive had a CT scan and blood tests and the whole lot but have never gotten a definitive answer as to why this happens. Its just something i deal with and dont let it control me. Maybe some other posters might experience things like this too but i havent met anyone in my life who has the same issues. Hearing about what happened Danny did strike a chord though. Hope he gets better soon and can learn to keep his condition under control and not affect his career!
I had something similar, but it's been a long time. From age 12 to 14 I had 4 migraines and they were all awful.
My first one was a rude awakening to the pain they can cause. Woke up early on a Saturday to play in a golf tournament. Getting into the car I started getting a tingling sensation in my hands. By the time we got to the course, some of my fingers were numb. Soon after, my toes went a little numb and my vision was getting blurry. It was all accompanied by the weird sensation that you're out of it and dazed, while my hearing didn't seem to be in the right frequency.
Anyway, got to the second green and had to stop I was so messed up. Puked in a pond on my walk back. Then sat in the clubhouse puking my guts out more than I ever had in my life. At that point, the headache began and it was literally hell. By the time a parent picked me up and I got home the pain was insufferable, I can't imagine anything hurting more and I've had my fair share of injuries. Even the slightest movement sent hellish shockwaves through my head---just awful.
I tried to sleep it off and the weird thing is, I was fine probably 8 hours later. The other 3 weren't as bad because I was at home when I got them and I knew what to expect, but they still sucked in their own way.
It's also funny that I literally never get headaches, ever. I also wonder just how much pain people are in when they say they have migraine, especially when they are sitting there and able to function pretty normally---I tend to think people just think a bad headache is a migraine and that certainly was not the case for me.
From what little I know, I think food, exposure to the sun, lack of hydration and being tired are a deadly combination. I know certain foods can be triggers for migraines as well.
