Ya when I read it, lets just say it wasn't the ideal article I pictured going in. That's the first time I have read anything from Dayne that I didn't particularly love.

I really don't see myself taking any other trips. It's a pretty solid commitment. I can't put a number on it, but I don't see my mind changing. I guess it's possible, but not probable.

Huh.

This is yet another reason why these last four games are so important. Weis has gotten these kids EXCITED about the young talent on this team, and they really want to be a part of it. He let the recruits know from the beginning that this was going to be a tough season. But these guys have to frigging SHOW SOMETHING over the next few weeks if the '08 class is going to keep believing in the future. Promises are not enough. Beating up on the Middies would be a good place to start.

well, it seems to reason that with clausen's arm still not responding to his surgery very well, crist should be able to consider an earlier competitive impact. just a thought. also i read half that crap from those recruiting services with a blind eye. they are in the business to stir the pot and sell subscriptions.........

This article doesn't bother me. Its like getting cold feet before your wedding, doesn't mean you don't love her though. He'll stay Irish

Article scares the crap out of me! He decommits I think it would be like dominos....one recruit after the next...

Really can you blame the kid? What QB in there right mind would want to be part of the offense that we have shown this year? Crist has a good chance to compete for the job next year unless someone makes HUGE strides in the next 4 games!!!!

I think we are all overreacting he's Irish, and I believe from everything I have heard about him he will stay that way. These kids get asked a million questions a day and for a guy who is right in USC country I think he has done a good job answering them for the most part. It would help us out a lot though if we could win these last four games and ride into the offseason on a high note.

If this freaks you out, find a ledge please and do me a service.

Having seen the body of his comments over the process of the year there isn't anything to worry about. He is a smart kid with a good head on his shoulders. Not going anywhere but South Bend.

From what I here from the Nebraska boys Pelini would entertain an offer to be the head coach if Callahan is fired. If you remember when Callahan was hired four years ago Pelini was the defensive coordinator there and many thought he was next in line for the job. I'm not so sure about Les Miles, but I know Pelini is on hell of a defensive coach. I hope these recruits see that the best coach on that team is about to leave.

He also said that he couldnt pass up the opportunity to play for the guy who coached with Tom Brady and Brady Quinn. I thin he is just covering his bases just in case some strange event happens that would cause him to change, like a coaching change. i dont think there is any reason to worry.

Guys,
Was this statement from Crist, before or after the Gray and Floyd commitment?? I have to believe that those commitments made things much better.

Gotta agree with that. Everyone wants to be part of a number 1 recruiting class. Who wants to be left out of something great? Things can snowball for good just as they can for bad. (Fortunately we get one of each, see: NU)

just a litte fun interview...for the fans. he's solid verbal guys, dont sweat it (doubt many of you were tho)

1) What is your opinion of ND fans?

Truthfully, I feel that ND fans are the greatest fans in the country. I don’t see any other fans that have the same passion or dedication that true Notre Dame fans show to the team or to the players.

2) What was your best memory you share with the fans?

I honestly think it would have to be when I went into the bookstore with my mom and aunt after the scrimmage on my visit, which also happened to be fan appreciation weekend...I was overwhelmed by the love the fans showed to me and my family, and really made me feel at home...it was extremely flattering and I was just amazed at the loyalty these fans show to the players.

3) Would you describe them as fanatical? In a good or a bad way?

Haha I don’t know if fanatical is the word...but I think passionate is a better one...I think it’s in a completely good way too...these fans are with the team through the highs and the lows, and that’s how true fans should be...I think the fans are huge part of why Notre Dame is such a special place and why so many recruits want to come and play for the Irish!

4) How excited are you to get to ND and meet all the fans (who you haven’t already met)?

I’m extremely excited, every time I’m around the fans I just get such a warm feeling, and I’m so grateful that I’m able to play for fans like this for the next 4 to 5 years.

Thanks gallup - Honestly the most impressive thing about this kid (and there are plenty of positives to choose from) is what a great guy he seems to be. Well spoken, intelligent, and I would imagine, a great leader.

Still you never know. Frazer also said he'd never transfer. I'd like to think JC might get out early enough to give him 2 years instead of one :).

Future Irish signal-caller Dayne Crist completed 11 of 21 attempts for 230 yards, giving him over 2,000 on the year, in Notre Dame's 51-30 drubbing of Bishop Amat (La Puente, Calif.), the Los Angeles Daily News reports. Most of his damage was done in the first half when he completed 10 of 15 passes for 185 yards.

Irish Recruiting Blog

Huge interview Nick (gallup) just finished with Crist. This is a must read. Crist talks about his conversation with Robinson AFTER the Duke game. You have to buy Nick (gallup) a ... Pepsi and rep him long time.

Yep - here's the article that talks about it. It's a really nice, and pretty in-depth, profile of him.
