41-80 as a head coach. I doubt he's getting a third bite at the apple.

Has Brian Kelly been mentioned with Maryland as well as Rutgers?

This should have happened at the end of last season. They are not very good. With all the talent around this area, they should be able to keep a few of those guys home. If they could be a little aggressive in the NIL they could be good.

Not a moment too soon. He might be the worst head coach New Mexico has ever had, and that's saying something. Some people's ceiling is coordinator/position coach.

My understanding is that Maryland athletics are very poor and don’t do well at all, even with big ten membership. They aren’t ones to pay coaches to sit at home and pay big buyouts. So this is a touch surprising.

Idk I think Maryland unironically would be a good fit for him. Pretty high upside with the talent in the DMV and reasonable fan expectations.

You know the media has been dying for a coach firing based off these early lists. Why on earth would someone like Jake Dickert leave Wake for Maryland? Marginally better finances at best with a much harder schedule. Jake Dickert can make a ACC Championship and therefore playoff right now.

Lance Taylor getting mentions is more appropriate and could work

The Athletic has had multiple articles in less than a week regarding hot seats, midseason grades, names you need to know, buyouts and they all but begged for a firing last week on the 16th with an article titled,

"Why haven’t any college football head coaches been fired yet this season?" ​

Maryland being first to act means anyone else who is on the fence is going to have to decide whether to move now and risk losing on the guy they may want. Someone like Jason Eck will be in high demand. People will begin reaching out via back channels and talking.
