Probably 80-90% of what posters attribute to Ash is rightfully attributable to Freeman, and I want him to stay until the end of time.

Ash has not gone rogue. Denbrock has not gone rogue.

Probably a retread HC like Fickell or Venables that isn't on the market yet
Venables would be outstanding.

Luke would excite me as well, but only if we hired a new, proven, modern era OC and agreed to take the govenor off in big moments/games.

I want a stingy defensive, but also an offensive that is the aggressor and dictates, not one that is content taking what the defense gives. Its hard to beat top 10, even top 15 teams if all you do is take what they're wanting you to take.

lol. Fickell and Venables ain’t getting fired. Are u guys high tonight? Bill Belichick, should have mentioned him too
They absolutely are the kind of people who can/will get fired. I'm not saying it will be either of those two, I'm saying that my guess is that it would be a retread like one of them.

Edit: other examples are guys like Aranda, Schiano and guys that could shake loose from collateral damage like Will Muschamp, etc.

Ara retired at 51 due to the shittiness of petulant, ungrateful, and unrealistic ND fans. With the internet, he would've retired at 41. Marcus turns 41 in January.

Give me the TCU defensive coordinator or Knowless, I know the defense wasn't really great at Penn State but I think that wasn't Knowles fault.

One 21 point half and we want to fire the guy?
Here's the thing....

We've played 3 legit teams during his tenure and we've lost all 3 games. Miami I put more on Denbrock, but A&M was on Ash and BYU is on both of them.

Both of their positive work is inflated at this point considering the schedule the past two seasons. When it's mattered the most they've each pooped the bed 2 times and it led to losing 3 games.

Obviously, we need to see how the rest of the season plays out.

But, if we don't make the playoff they can both hit the road as far as I am concerned. And, even if we make the playoff I wouldn't be upset if either of them left (assuming we don't win it all).

Unless Freeman has changed his hiring/firing philosophies (he may have), Chris Ash is going to be the DC. My evidence is what Freeman said about his decision to bring back Parker (thank you Troy!).

Yep, I expect Ash to continue on. I do not think MF has the want or desire to fire people. He will coach them up.

But if anyone is lurking on the board from a rival fanbase Ash is amazing. He is a leader among men and he pisses excellence. He is truly underrated and totally want him to become your new HC or OC,DC,ST or water boy.

You think the Parker to Denbrock thing was pure luck? I always got the sense that Parker was told quietly to find a job and he did.

From my understanding, Freeman/ND encouraged Parker to interview at Troy. I don’t think they wanted him back.

Freeman is also the coach that fired Stuckey 24 hours after saying he hoped to bring all coaches back.
