Don’t want to derail, but had several attacks for the first time this year. Specialist said diet doesn’t contribute as much as some think, but the two worst things to eat are shellfish and aspartame. Beer as well.

Poor kidneys or family history definitely are a big factor. Diet wise for me it's usually red meat, but shellfish were a no-no too, and alcohol or pop can definitely contribute although I've never been one to drink alcohol outside of a rare tailgate so that was never a concern. Red meat was the big one for me, would eat it regularly and then had to dial it back for 20 years until I got on the Alopurinol finally. Hated having to finally go on a daily pill, but I love being able to eat steak and shrimp regularly again.
Ive never seen gout in someone less than 30. I’m sure it occurs, but I’ve never seen it in nearly 20 years of primary care experience, which includes the Samoan islands (gout central). Frank didn’t seem so sure about the length of his time out this morning on his Frank commetary.

We haven't met, but I started having flare ups around 25. Went to the podiatrist, explained the symptoms and he was surprised as I was. "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck" etc. There's a history of it in my family, and I've always gravitated towards red meat and pop (I've never been a water drinker, but I'm doing better in my 40s now).
Thought gout was a fat person disease and then my ex's age-hack ass Dad got it.

I was pretty svelte when I first started getting Gout, it was prior to the back surgeries and I was more active then.

Just wanted to respond, I'll try not to derail anymore. FWIW, I doubt Brauntae has Gout, but maybe he's drinking more alcohol and eating more beef than I was at that age (The former is more than likely, the later is not  )

I’ve been here at IE for many years, but I don’t post much. I have to say, threads like this are why I’ll always be around…

I saw there was activity on this post so I dove in to catch some late-breaking details on Braunte’s injury and the first thing I see is in-depth analyses of gout and how Bobby Hill should be its poster boy. I knew I needed to find out how we got there!

Needless to say, I was NOT disappointed! I’ve been sitting here, laughing for several minutes! 😂

Minor injury better mean an ankle sprain or a hangnail.

If it's a high ankle sprain or anything with the foot, 6 weeks before he's full go. And I wouldn't consider that minor.

was just told out 4-6 weeks. Having procedure done today or tomorrow.

edit: Pretty reliable poster on 247 just posted the same.
Isn't the reliable source the same guy that was caught making crap up or being completely wrong in the past? Also, Tim O mentioned it being more than minor.
