Rocket who?? Ismail was listed at 4.3 by UPI Recruiting in '88. He was the Golden West National Invt'l Runner-up in the 100 meter in 10.38 and the 60 meter National Champ in 6.28 in High School
Never heard of UPI Recruiting. I was reading a more popular source. My guess is SuperPrep by Allen Wallace, though it might've been Lemming or Terranova--likely in '87.

United Press International (UPI) is who did the Top 100 rankings starting in 80s-til around '91

Back in the days of newspapers, like actual printed newspapers, UPI was the go to source for sports rankings.
Yeah UPI was a whole wire service, like the AP. They also ran the coaches poll for decades until around 1990. Would make sense they were in the rankings business in the 80s. They were pretty heavily invested in college football.

We have the composite #9 and #13 RBs committed and people were complaining...after getting the composite #9 and #11 RBs last year.
I don't think it was complaining as much as it's that last year's backs were on another level and it causes some to be spoiled. Both of those backs last year were legit top 5 backs that everybody is high on (Both in the top 45 nationally before the season) and this years backs as a DUO are not as talented. Whisenton is a guy I think ends up in the top 125 and looks to have the traits and skills to be a top tier back. Rogers is a guy a lot are down on because he looks slightly above average on film with limited burst and it's hasn't been a track record of guys running for less than 1k in HS having success in college.

Whisenton is an incredible prospect with as much upside as anyone we've signed in the past 3-4 classes. #181 is still massively undervalued. He's a top 100 player with his acceleration/top-end speed and willingness to run inside.

I just don't want to lose him because he could be special.

It’s interesting, UGA landed Dollar and Spell over us. Money towards RB and TE. Better live up to be Bowers and Love otherwise may prove to be some asset allocation that other schools are not going to try to follow that model. ND going with the approach of 4 guys they like right below that 5 star line and trust your evaluation

I think Latham is too low and Rogers too high.
I love Lathan's upside and think he will climb significantly up the rankings because his tools are special, it just about how good is football IQ and instincts are. He's got some BOOM or BUST about him but I'm not worried about that.

Whereas Rogers is the type that's never going to blow you away but is always good and don't realize or miss him until there gone.
