I'll make an absurd comment: The more I look at our secondary personnel, and every remark I hear, pushes me to honestly consider that we have a full team of AA quality people back there. I mean it sounds like Leonard Moore and his Band of Thieves. Opposing offensive coordinators seem doomed to plan only for rushing game plans. Will there be games in which our defense outscores our offense in a 70 point total? I mean, Great Lord Above, these guys seem outrageously good.

And the first time our field corner gives up a touchdown, this board will lose it

There is nothing that better illustrates how big of nerds the sports media are then seeing them ask 10 questions about minor scuffles in practice, insinuating that it could be an issue. Please tell me that you've never played a competitive sport without telling me lol.

I was pleasantly surprise Sampson and Fortuna were very encouraged by it and thought it was a good thing (which I agree). It's a competitive sport played by Alphas. Keep it to hockey fighting rules and I'm good.

Prister talking about the scuffles is hilarious. He seems increasingly out of touch.
Remember, he always blows with the wind and this is a time in certain areas where one must be so nice and sweet and violence is never the answer and all that garbage.
A team that does not have some tussles is a team that is not going anywhere.

Didn't Prister get into a fight or scuffle before spring game last year??

I figured he'd be all for this!

I didn't hear how the question was posed in the pc, but their discussion of the scuffles in the II podcast was balanced.

Irish-colored Glasses: team finally has a bunch of dudes capable of being legit alphas, and the only way to establish the national-championship pecking order is to get after it

Rubber Sheet, Bedwetter’s Special: MFMF has lost control of the team and they’re gonna fall apart because there’s no control or accountability

Reality: a bunch of competitive college kids on a team that’s gonna be damn good are figuring some shit out

In fairness I don't think the football subscription website based media (IrishIllustrated, Irish Sports Daily, Irish Breakdown, etc) are the issue. Those guys generally know football to some extent and don't have a problem with it. I'm referring more to the traditional print journalist types and the local television nerds, that are either having their sensibilities offended, looking to create an angle for a story because they have nothing better to write about, or are always on the lookout for opportunities to capture / create drama where it doesn't exist.

I should have been more specific in my initial statement, because you're correct that there is much more balance among the online media types.

The tricky part of this is not having it lead to stupid penalties come game days.

You absolutely want to foster that edge but still maintain discipline and it's a fine line.

This is the most overblown thing I have seen in quite a while. Skirmishes are extremely common place in any college or pro practice. This is as big of a nothing burger as there could be. I would be a bit concerned if there weren't any skirmishes.

I wouldn’t be concerned if there weren’t skirmishes, but yeah, I wholeheartedly trust the culture Freeman has and this is probably good stuff.

What’s pretty wild is it’s been 6 seasons since Chase Claypool left and we really haven’t had much in the way of big WR production during that stretch. The best season of the 6 was Kevin Austin’s 888 and 7 in 2021.

My hot take is Mylan Graham beats those numbers. He’s got the talent and the QB to do it.

Happy Easter gentlemen. If I had to guess I'd say the most productive season in regards to receiving yards and receptions was probably Michael Mayer in the Drew Pyne season. I know not a WR but proves your point. It's been awhile

I do not want CJ throwing forty times a game
would be happy with around 30 since that would mean our running game is doing well
we have been spoiled rotten with Love and Price; no way can we expect our running game to be close to that
but we still need to run it very well to get the success we want
and do NOT GET PASS HAPPY

Carr is our best player on offense, and this is the best group of receivers in a long ass time. I would like the ball to be in his hands.

Do you not know who Mike Denbrook is? The man cannot help himself.

Imo, only one thing will slow down the pass attempts: thirty point leads in the third quarter.
