Don’t count Lou out just yet. Our Coach is as tough as they come and if there’s a way, he will find it and live on. I still think ND is saving Jimmy Johnson’s ass for him, and Coach Lou will come and collect.
Keep fighting Coach☘️

At Coach's age, this is about nothing "football." It is about his life and its relationship with The Lord. Lou was very kind to my Mom when I wrote to tell him about my Dad's passing, and wrote a personal note of loving nature. For that, he got a smile from her and from God. He'll be fine in Heaven.

Are there any actual sources on this? Other than this aggregator linked in the OP?

The only other references are posts on different messages boards saying they read it on other message boards.

Not that it's not true, just want to see it from a real reporter.

Skip Holtz, I guess they consider him a good source

Prayers for Coach Holtz. I have never been terribly hit emotionally by the passing of a public figure that I did not personally know. Saddened sure, but nothing more. This one would really hit me though. Lou was coaching as I grew up in the late 80's early 90's when I fell in love with Notre Dame. He's one I wish could live forever.

In fairness, the article you posted is the only source with any of those quotes anywhere on the internet. It reads like it was written by AI, not by a person.

I tried to post another but it was private, but it's definitely 100% real deal.

Same here, Kobe Bryant is the only one I was truly and deeply saddened by for quite a while to this point, but him being the age of an older sibling is different. This one would probably hit me worse because of my connection from childhood and he basically orchestrated by connection to ND and is more like the wise elder who is the foundation of a family. Still wish I would've got to suit up for Lou and that he was at ND just a little longer.

That article is definitely AI generated, but if you want to credit what amounts to Creed Thoughts, that's up to you.
Who gives a damn about how an article is written if the gist of the information is legit? It stems from a post written from his son on his personal page, if Skip decided to use AI instead of his own words it wouldn't change the health issue.

Sounds like the inevitable for all of us is about to happen w/ Coach Holtz. What an amazing life he led. I hate that the younger ND fans weren’t able to enjoy the halcyon Holtz era in the 1980s to mid-90s. There was no one like him. He was far from perfect & would always use his corny saying but that’s what made him Coach Holtz. I found this AI-generated tribute to the 1988 team. I realize for non-ND fans, they’ll look at it as proof at how long it’s been since ND won a title. That’s fine. I look back on it fondly regardless. Those student-athletes won it all when I was a senior in HS. I’m thankful for the memories they & Coach Holtz provided. It was good times indeed. Hoping to experience it again as an old man watching the Freeman Era.

I'm not seeing any mention of what health issue Holtz is dealing with that has put him in hospice care. Given that he had cancer a decade ago, are we assuming that's the issue, or is there something else more likely? I always liked the guy. Great personality and seems like a genuinely great man.

Family hasn't released that info but yes he previously battled Prostate cancer in 2014, Bell's Palsy in 2016 then was stricken with a severe case of COVID in 2019-2020.

This one will hurt. So many memories growing up watching him and strengthening my love of ND football. Was the best ambassador weve had until coach Freeman. It's damn nuts that him and my wife's grandpa that just turned 94,who might be a bigger Irish fan than me, share the same birthday, and entered into hospice a day apart.
