Wondering how Charlie and Dayne are faring over in Lawrence? Here's some footage:

Pretty cool. The whole team looks undersized. Charlie will have to pull off some fantastic play calling to make them competitive next year.

I also like how he took the tradition of singing the alma mater after games with him to Kansas.

I'm sorry but if Dayne plays well, and Tommy starts, if BK only wins 6 or 7 I could see him get fired.

I used to hate Kansas because I'm from Missouri, but I find myself cheering for Dayne and Chuck.

Hope Dayne becomes a stud there...so long as he doesn't consequently turn around and bite his thumb at ND.

Kelly just recently signed a contract extension through 2016. This won't happen.

Refresh my memory.

Didn't Weis get an contract extension for something like 10 years?

I think you already know the answer.

In either case, he lasted four years after the extension before they canned him.

...

Dayne could win the Heisman at KU and it won't effect Kelly. Particularly since ND hired his new head coach on an OJT basis, extended his contract, terminated him, then hired a guy named ... Kelly.

IF Charlie has finally learned how to be a head coach and not just QB Coach and OC, he'll do better. But his success there, doesn't factor into Kelly's evaluation here.

Neither Tommy starting nor a 6 win season will get him fired next year. The seat might be hot but not electrified. Kelly would have to replicate a couple of 37-0, 38-0 games and hire a bunch of assistants like Tenuata and Brown to totally confuse his own defense.

No defense either, 45-0? Its pass skel with a little rush. I hope Dayne does big things but I wouldn't read to much into it

I love and miss Charlie's gadgetry. I like how he brought the alma mater tradition to Kansas with him, but it doesn't look like the KU fans are up to speed yet - unless there were only 47 people there.

It's funny you bring this up (I had this convo with some friends last week), and I respect your opinion a ton, so you think, if Dayne wins a Heisman, and is an All American, and Kelly hitches his wagon to Tommy Rees and they go 6-6, he doesn't get axed, or at least there isn't a huge uproar from Alums saying he should go?

None of that is going to happen.......none.

Ummmmmmm. Shouldn't this be on a kansas board? Nobody (at least not me) cares about a bunch of ND rejects that went to kansas. Just sayin.

Nope. But I could see how one could come to this conclusion...if they haven't been following the team's progress beyond Ws and Ls over the past 2 years.

Well, technically it's on the "Other College Football" board so it's on topic.
Nothing wrong with a little curiosity.
I'd like to see Crist and Mac do well... could care less about Chuck.

It'd be sweet if we played them this year. And Crist > Rees. Still wish we would have stuck with him and he'd be our QB this year, but what do I know.

if this is how you feel you take college athletics a little too far. Bunch of ND rejects have a degree that you clearly don't have and just want to play one more year of football. Good for them, id rather cheer for a kid who plays because he loves the sport than someone who is just in it for themselves. They did everything that was asked of them

Screen, draw, fade, punt?

I'm a Pats fan, so it worked for me. Plus, I don't think Charlie's play calling was his problem at ND. Seems like an odd criticism if you ask me, but it isn't the first time I've heard it from an ND fan. I don't think it is a valid opinion, honestly.

NDOM, I care. About all of them. We have threads about every Michigan player who has ever gotten arrested, we can't have a thread about how a bunch of ND grads are doing?
