He looks like the nose guard we passed on last season, in the face and chest.

He's also in tandem with a buddy from high school.

Another two hawgies this class would be great: in he and Montelus..

Not a flattering picture ... but pretty good stuff in that clip. Seems like a Lombard type that could play either guard or tackle. Kelly loves that.

Yeah, dual-threat QB, Johnny Stanton. Spond/Baratti type recruit I guess, since we already have Zaire.

Visiting for the spring game. No offer but is very interested and has spoke with Denbrock frequently. Teammate of QB/ATH Johnny Stanton (who will also be at the B&G game) but he is not just hitching a ride.

Committed to UCLA last month but still looking around.

I read where he set some records his freshman year in wrestling. And since, he's concentrated fully on football.

That's impressive.

Wrestling is a maturity/technique sport in which speed is king.

That was three years ago so I think he must be a very hard nosed kid.

According to 247, he's a better prospect than both McGlinchey and McGovern.

He would be a good addition, but I guess I'm wondering what the situation with Dorian Johnson is...?

It's interesting the approach the staff is taking to recruiting OL. It seems we told Dorian off, but have looked at Montelus and now Bunte. I'm assuming it's for versatility's sake? What does the staff do if both want to commit this weekend? I can't imagine they'll take 6 OL.

He doesn't have an offer so he couldn't commit. If Montelus commits then he likely won't get one. If Montelus doesn't like ND as much as UF then he will commit to UF and open the door for an offer for Bunte.

Ok that makes sense then. So basically the staff is only going to take 5 OL, and they don't mind if the 5th is either of the two. I like the planning ahead by the staff this year.

Yea im really confused about the whole Dorian Johnson thing... if it is true that we just passed on him and he wanted in, i won't be the happiest person in the world...

But I suppose our staff knows a little more than I do. Just a little lol

I haven't seen this yet but do we know what Dorian's grades are like? There is a reason we passed.

Good point, also he may not just be a good fit, if I remember correctly whoever the recruit is there are multiple levels of review and analysis before an offer is sent out. Since an offer was already sent out, there must have been something that the staff uncovered as time went on to push him aside, if that is truly what happened.

The kid is big, but something I noticed from his film is that he plays tall. What I mean is that he doesn't bend at the knees to get under the DL, he bends at his waist. He can get away with this in high school most of the time, but if he lines up in front of our D-line, he will be swam, swatted and just ran past 9 times out of 10. He's got the size, he just needs to better coaching.

I'm not worried about it.

Going into the future, now that Kelly has given this team the OL depth it needs, every OL will redshirt a year to get coached up and build. For obvious reasons, that is a great improvement from under Weis.

It's crazy to think that when Weis took the reigns from Willingham, there were seven scholarship OL on the roster. Now in just the 2013 class, Kelly may take six.

Holy crap. I don't think I've ever thought about that. And people say this team isn't progressing. Fools.

With what I said before, this kid has great potential though, obviously. I wouldn't hate taking him and Montelus to wrap things up on the line.

Bummer.

I was gonna say he looks like Big Ben.

I wonder if he was having free center try outs in California about 18 years ago: whether they wanted to deep snap or not!
