Ladies and Gentlemen...it is now Wednesday night. In roughly 9 hours we shall officially be starting the one and only, The Masters.
Now some of you may not be golfers, even if you are not, I highly recommend you at least once in your life try and take a day out of your lives to go and view the masterpiece that is Augusta National. There truly is nowhere on Earth like it, and can be appreciated by absolutely anyone.
This is the first year in a few years that I will be unable to attend, and I am incredibly jealous my dad got to go to the Par3 Contest this morning. One thing I thank God for everyday, besides being a Notre Dame fan :) , is that my father and I have had the opportunity to do so many wonderful things with athletics, namely the game of golf. (Even though I can never forgive him for getting to play there in '98 and not taking me with him.lol)

This is my favorite week of the year by far...and I cannot wait to see how tremendous it shall be. A lot of people are saying it's setting up to be one of the best in the last 20 years. Here's to hoping they're right.

Much to my dismay, the par 3 contest was cut short due to weather. I love the family atmosphere and looseness around the event. Nick O'Leary (Freshman FSU TE and Arnold Palmers grandson) caddied for and shot a few of Arnie's shots last year. Awesome event.

Now if only this 70% chance of storms will hold out, this amazing event will get going tomorrow morning.

I want Tiger v. Rory tied for first on Sunday. Can you imagine watching that back 9?

Sunday watching the Masters, nothing better. Can't wait until 3D broadcasts and TV get main stream and show that course for what it really is.

Should be a great show.

Back in '87, my dad had the opportunity to play Augusta with a big customer of his. To this day one of his greatest thrills. His dad, my grandpa, one of the biggest golf fans in the world, passed away a couple of months later was thrilled that his son got to play arguably the finest course on the planet... My dad buried him with the putter he used, a scorecard from the round and a picture of him on the 12th green amongst other Master's gear. Didn't find out until years later, but every year since, my dad and I have made a point to watch the Masters together and he tells me about every shot and all the lies and how incredibly difficult that yard is.

I look forward to this weekend...

There is no event in sports rather than a ND national championship game or a Philly championship game that I would rather watch then the masters. Simply magical.

That truly would be an awesome final pairing for the final round, or Rory vs Phil, or Tiger vs Phil.
I am personally a HUGE Rory supporter. I noticed him about 5 years ago before he became really mainstream, and I told everyone then that he would be a force to be reckoned with. I am so happy for him that he was able to redeem himself with the US Open win a couple months later...now I want to see him in a Green Jacket.
For anyone else that is a golf fan, watch out for Scott Stallings this week. Not a household name yet, and is coming off a bad ribs injury early in the year. He is from Oak Ridge,TN where I just moved from and I've gotten to know him.(A guy my dad and I are friends with is best friends with him). He is an absolutely great guy, and an outspoken Christian. He'll be a great ambassador for the game as well.

Today at work we made sure the Direct TV, 3D TV and Surround sound are all in good working order for the Masters. It's all about priorities.

Masters Sunday is one of the great days of the year, along with Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fourth of July and the Super Bowl.
