caliber prospects? And that is 11 four star recruits. Not 3 star or less. I have serious doubts that we land 9 guys in the span of the weekend following Jr. Day.
One down year doesn't make much difference to a USC or a Michigan. To us, this past year could have kept us out of the BCS for the next decade.
It's dangerous to have that opinion on here. Remember, it's early and we haven't had our junior day yet.
Did you even read my response to you? C'mon bro, do better than that. His opinion about our weak season hurting our recruiting is shared By MOST on here. Read a little more before you go trying to insult members' intelligence here. Weak.
Not insulting anybody's intelligence bro, don't know where you got that from. I'm not trying to be emo or doom and gloom. What I was trying to get at earlier is that we currently are struggling at recruiting and when someone points that out, they get put on blast for it. If someone says Michigan out-recruited us last year, they're quickly hit with the "michigan's class was all quantity, not quality" BS. If someone says Michigan and OSU are out-recruiting us this year, they get labeled a pessimist and told to wait until junior day or that there is a long time to go. We are getting dominated by those teams in our own backyard. We had a poor finish to this past class, a slow start to this year's class, and an almost non-existent recruiting presence in the Midwest. We should be a little pissed off. We don't need to be ridiculed when we post an opinion different from your own.
If we somehow go 10-2. This is us next year. All about winning
But Hoke did it with a 6-6 team from the previous year !? I am confused.
I don't think that that can be argued right now, but some of you guys are blowing things out of proportion.
It's when guys start acting like there's no way we can beat Michigan ever again that they get labeled a pessimist.
I'm not trying to be emo or doom and gloom.

the negative momentum of this past year's finish is clearly carrying over into the 2013 offseason, this is a fact.

You absolutely are insulting our intelligence. Someone wrote this:
And you responded with this:
C'mon dude, that's friggin' ridiculous. Almost everyone agrees that our horrible year is contributing to a slow recruiting start of the year. Seriously, who is arguing that??? But yet you're saying it's dangerous to have that opinion around here? Like I said, that's weak, and insulting to people's intelligence.
Yes, many of us are saying it's early. Yes, many of us are saying to wait until both Jr. Days to (over)react. Heck, I'm even saying to wait until the season, because ND has to show kids that they'll be a part of a winning program. That's my opinion, and if people want to disagree, fine by me. Not ridiculing their opinions - just don't agree with their reactions. I certainly am not going to live the next 11.5 months in misery b/c Michigan kicked *** on their Jr. Day.
Also, who isn't agreeing that UM and OSU are killing us in recruiting right now? They are. What many of us are arguing, and what cannot be denied, is that recruiting is a marathon, not a sprint. What cannot be argued is that we are still a LONG way from NSD 2013. I'd much rather Michigan kick our asses in recruiting now than in February 2013. If that happens, then yeah, we're in trouble. Right now? Not overly concerned personally. It sucks big time (and I don't blame anyone for being pissed - not sure where you got that from), but again, I've seen way too many horrible days followed by outstanding says to let one bad weekend completely ruin my outlook on ND football.
That was clearly written as a joke. Sorry if you don't see it that way. I'm not going keep going back and forth with you on this. It serves no purpose and has completely derailed this thread.
Kelly did it his first year with a 6-6 team
The meme that the the only thing that really matters is average star rating has gotten a bit out of hand. In the extreme, a class of one four star recruit would rank as among the best classes in the country, in spite of being pretty terrible.you are not doing a very good job then
but its true, I would take our current class (without Neal) over UM's 2012 class any day. Scout.com: Football Recruiting<--- Avg star ranking (last column), 247sports has us above UM and Rivals has us just below UM, which includes Notre Dame's 2* #1 long snapper in the country. Notre Dame's 2012 class > UM's 2012 class.
If we had a commit doing this to USC mail, we would be overjoyed.
But thats different
