From 247:

Quote:
"My top-five is Stanford, Notre Dame, Virginia, Michigan, and Southern Cal. I'm not too set on the pecking order. I go back and forth almost daily on the order."

The Trojans and been showing increased interest...

If he really said this his status shouldn't be (Stanford Verbal).

He reitterated that he is still committed to Stanford. I think he meant to say that after Stanford there really is no pecking order. He previously said ND was #2 and now I think he is just saying that it changes daily between who is 2, 3, 4 or 5.

Smart kid, good speaker. Top 3 of Stanford, ND, and UVA. Thought ND offer was great coming from a "Power House" (his words).
Both parents, brother and sister are doctors, but he is still unsure on what to major in (so academics does play a big part IMHO). Parents coming with him to Jr. day.
Planning on checking out Fishagain (err Michigan). Offer list of 8 schools.
Speaks to Coach Booker (who likes his quickness off the ball and how he play's in space) on FB quite a bit. Most schools offer as 3/4 OLB, but will play anywhere to get on the field. Important factors are how he fits in, academics, and football.
Thought about EE (only an option right now). No decision timeline. Will probably take OV's nothing planned as of next year.

From the way he talked, UVA didnt really seem like a factor that much. Almost like he was "obligated" to go because it was so close. Just my opinion after I heard him talking about it. Didnt think Michigan would be much of a factor so I was surprised when he mentioned them.

I think we have a decent shot at flipping him, but still would be a little difficult to pull him away from Stanford. (Equal academics and Stanford > ND in football (right now at least)) Not sure how long he will draw this process out, but if it goes into the season, if we have a good season (beat Stanford) I could see him flipping. Just my two cents after listening to the interview.

Our line backing corp in this class might be sick. Potentially landing him, smith, anzalone, and drennon? Not sure how many we're talking but right there is a solid group

I think we get him. Awesome.

Not sure if he is CAT or DOG. he is very versatile.

As long as Smith is the #1 priority... but I agree, our LB core could be pretty solid this year... 3-4 LBs?

Seems like 4. It was noted that Diaco has told recruits he wants one at each position this year.

I'm thinking he would be a DOG do to the fact he played WR so he probably has good hands and cover skills.

Rite now I'm looking at Smith (Can play any of the 4 LB), Randolph (Dog prob), Drennon (Cat) and a ILB maybe Mastrogiovanni

how realistic is it for us to get those 4? I know Smith is a ND lean right now, but Randolph seems to be a ND/Stanford coin flip right now and dont know where the other two stand.

Pretty realistic IMO... I think we will have Smith verbal at the spring game. Drennon said he loved ND. Mastrogiovani came without an offer, left with one, should be deciding between us and Texas A+M. I'll take our odds of a coin flip on Randolph haha

Per 247, Staff told him he is their #1 target at DOG and if he commits then they will stop recruiting that position.

Still seems solid on his Stanford committment at this time.

Im 65% sure that I've read somewhere (ISD?) that Jaylon's best fit is at WILL and that the staff looks at him as an ILB. There is a solid chance that im wrong though and am remembering wrong.

I really like how much he talked about our football tradition in the interviews, something im sure the coaches repeated several times. Definitely our main selling point over stanford.

I really thought that they were looking at the LB positions right now as CAT - Jaylon, MIKE - Mastrogiovanni, WILL - Anzalone, and DOG - Randolph. Could be wrong, but that's what it seemed like to me. I would take one more on top of that if need be (Drennon to CAT) and put Jaylon whereever he makes the most plays, but if we just get that four that seems the most likely to me right now.

didn't wanna see this.

solid enough to still be taking visits to other schools... From what I have seen posted on this board (from GITF and GBdomer) I dont really consider it a "solid" verbal... but hey, what do I know. :)

I understand telling a recruit that but does this really mean that BK and staff will just go after players in the big skill(?) category? I just really hope were not banking on one guy, he falls through at the end and were caught with our hands on our weenas.

On the heels of GITF info....

wants to get back up to ND some time
wants to visit Virginia for a spring practice
wants to get out to Stanford in the summer
and wants to visit Michigan even though they haven't offered yet.

was asked what will it take for him to flip to ND:

“They have to show me that it’s a better place for me to be for the next four or five years,” he replied. “The school has to show me that it’s the best place. It would have to be better than Stanford at football and academics.

“Notre Dame could be that fit, but I’m still set on Stanford right now. It was a different perspective and I enjoyed seeing it.”

He sounds like a very mature kid.
