I don't see any teams like SF or Hou taking Manning. Both teams made deep runs last year. SF was minutes away from the SB. Why would you get rid of what you have to take a shot on Manning? Is he HOF? Of course. But who knows how he will be when he comes back. Will he be healthy? Will he mesh with the team? Will he be the whiner who throws his team under the bus when they lose in the first round? The other issue is he needs to go to a team with a good O Line and a good run game or he's going to get wrecked.

Houston doesn't have both those?? Maybe the best Oline in the league and top RB's as well.

And Schuab is a good QB and all, but he cracks under pressure.

But you make a great point about the helath issue, I was strickly speaking from the perspective that he comes back healthy. Nobody really knows what you're goign to get untilt hat info comes out.

Horrible day to be a Colts fan

Still think it's in the best interest for the franchise. I think they should look to unload a lot of their pieces for young players and draft choices. Guys like Reggie Wayne, Robert Mathis, and Dwight Freeney can fetch you a ton.

They won't have another winning season for at least 3-5 years, at a minimum.

Not saying Peyton would change any of that but it is still a sad day to know the greatest QB ever, is leaving. Yet he will still be in the NFL on another team.

It happens, still sucks.

I will say this though.

As difficult as it is to see Peyton get let go, I honestly feel like the franchise as a whole is moving in the right direction.

Pagano seems like the perfect hire

Grigson is another up and comer

I sincerely hope they can put the pieces around Luck to make Indy a serious contender

Mathis just signed a 4 year deal. I think they should deal Freeney. Both Wayne and Garcon are free agents and can walk. Saturday will likely retire. Luck will be throwing to Blair White, Austin Collie, and Dallas Clark behind a brand new inexperienced O-line.

Lord help us.

You have got to be f'ing kidding me. A Redskins fan doesn't want to sign Manning. A blind, paraplegic Peyton would be a huge upgrade from any of your QBs in the last oh..30 years.

truth hurts...but funny as hell...hehehe

You all have the coach in DC to win, you just need a QB with a football IQ and some skills If Manning is healthy, watch out in yr2...

It would be great to get Manning...AND V-Jax.

But the Skins need to upgrade on the Oline....

It sure would be nice to have Manning throwing to Moss,Cooley,Davis,Helu out of the back field. Vjax is proably going to cost more then Manning bringing Wayne with him. But i want to see them resign Fletcher and our sfaties are not good consider Landry is a FA.

I understand why the Redskins are possibly involved with Manning but I read something today that said the Mannings hated when people would pump up things like the Manning Bowl. Stuff like that drives them crazy.

I have a hard time believing Peyton would want to interfere with what Eli is doing over with the NYG. Play in the same division, two times a year, etc. One thing if they meet in the playoffs or once in a while but just some things I have heard.

Which is why you hear teams like Miami or even San Fran.

I understand that. He won't be in San Fran Harbaugh won't let Manning be Manning. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cardinals go after him and then trade Kolb away.

1) He isn't going to play in the NFC North (Even Dungy said he didnt think this could happen)
2) He isn't going to play under a coach that doesn't let him run the offense (say goodbye to Harbaugh and Shanahan).
3) He isn't going to play with a team that isn't ready to compete for championships (say goodbye to Miami and possibly the Seahawks).

That leaves:
- Kansas City
- Denver
- Arizona
- Tennessee

Who am I missing under this hypothesis?

Good breakdown I think.

I think Elway would like him in Denver, but could anyone afford him?

And KC is ready to compete for a championship OK. Denver could use him but they are still stuck on Timmy. Arizona has the best chance of all the teams you have listed. I don't think he will go to the skins but it would have been nice though.

I got a little emotional watching his presser and knowing its the end of an era.

I hope he can continue on; if not, I hope he goes on to coach, and leads the vols back to contention and another ND thwartin!

I used to enjoy Tennessess as a boy on TV.

Nothing like ND, but I liked them. (I also had Auburn ruin that for me recently.)

Best of luck to Peyton. What a family pedigree. Which family can compete with what Archie had as far as offspring and football? I mean besides OMM.

They have $50 million in cap space. Denver media has been buzzing.

They are one season removed from winning the AFC west. They have a good defense and a great receiver corps. If they got Manning, they would easily be the favorite in the crappy AFC west.

Doubt it's a vacation. He owns a home there.

This is true, I told someone earlier that expected people to freak out once he showed up there. I guess I was right.

Houston. Yes, you'd say it's unlikely...but Houston, without Manning, is a lock to win that division.

Best chance to win now.

For some reason I think he goes to Arizona, mostly because they play in a dome.
