I,m curious to see if I live in the worst possible spot to be an Irish Fan....Ann Arbor Michigan....no no, I go to a MAC school just down the road thank you lol. I literally live in the den of the beast. Every where I go its block M this, brady hoke is the messiah that! I venture a little west and i'm in sparty country (slightly more tolerable but not much) If i head 40 mins south, I'm in Nut country. I'm so used to being the outcast at every local bar/sporting event. Its like a bigfoot sighting if I see somebody else representing the blue and gold lol. Just curious whats it like elsewhere out there outside of south bend....whether your a loner like me, or if theres pockets of domers in unsuspecting places!?!?

When I was gorwing up I never saw USC fans... the few i knew I felt sorry for... now they are everywhere and talk smack off and on when I wear my gear, which is anyday I'm not working... now i am very much the lone ND fan...

Although, it's 99% Aggie and Longhorn fans.

But I LIVE to be the only guy in the ND jersey. Can't wait for the home and home with UT.

The Longhorns are 5-7 and 8-5 over the last two years. I'm not scared of Texas like am with OU. We have been good enough to beat them the last two seasons.

I would be more inclined to say that those two years are very out of character for UT, whereas 8-5 is very in character for us, unfortunately....They have some fantastic recruiting classes and will be back to 10-11 win seasons in no time.

I hear about it all day. Athletically, they are one of the top 3 teams in college football.

I live smack dab in the middle of blow-chunk orange Vol land. Old ladies will go out of their way int he Kroger to tell me Notre Dame sucks when they see me sporting ND gear. I get the finger from clergy toting Alabama bumper stickers. when the Irish lose, my local "friends" love to remind me on my facebook page even though the Vols suck worse. It is hell in the SEC land.

But... Texas, OU and ND... of the three UT has been the team that has recruited the best... so while it is difficult to predict where the three will be in two/three years, from what we know now, I would have to say a person with objectivity and a functioning brain would expect UT to be better… much so.

also, considering the recent history of the ND program, if you were to name ANY four big games at random the odds are the record is 0-4... so ...

No, I am not expecting 35 point blowouts… but yes, I am not expecting a 4-0 record with those four games, I see no reason but homerism to think otherwise…

I would ask what logic does anyone have other than the same tired... "In two years we will be the 85 bears" stuff that this base has been claiming for 15 years straight now, to think we should go 2-0 against Texas, or have a winning record against those two... yes, it can happen... but to expect is a lot of wishful thinking imo...

agree to disagree?... make issue where there is none?... whatever, use the ignore feature if you feel it's needed... but nothing will turn my opinion of this program expect for the product on the field... and it sure as hell ain't there yet... i definately have no place for cliff jumpers, and I also have the same tolerance for the baseless homers.

I'm not agreeing to disagree because your original argument was that we would be getting blown out by 30 in all of the games, which there is no basis for. I never said that we are going to be favored in the future matchups. While there is certainly evidence pointing towards some losses, Texas has not been great the last couple years (we have actually been better), and we shouldn't expect to get blown out by them.

Some of you talk about Notre Dame like we are on the brink of the Apocalypse or something. Some of you fully plan on getting blown out by every good team we play going forward. It's a really crappy attitude to have.

Thanks for the feedback....not sure how a good chunk of posts deal with potential blowouts, and the bickering of said potential blowouts, but its refreshing to hear of others out there in the same boat. I agree with that Vols comment, I lived just outside of knoxville for a summer in NC and the atomsphere is very anti anything not Tennessee related lol.

Unlike Penn State, Michigan, Texas, etc....Ohio State has actually been elite good consistently lately. Really good. Like stupid-f*cking good for a decade.

It's a program that used to have "Senator Tressel" and then the moment he was exposed everyone turned into the biggest hypocrite in college football. So the arrogance of previous seasons turned into a hypocritical arrogance last season. It was just the worst.

Then Karma came and delivered them a 6-7 season and what happens? Freaking Urban Meyer. Is there no justice in this world???
