Yup thats him :) Hes probably a silent commit right now and maybe BK wants him to hold on a public commitment until the Junior Days in the hope that it might start some momentum

Not expecting to commit this weekend, though he won't rule it out. Excited about the thought of playing for his childhood favorite but has serious, legit interest in Michigan after visiting, even after rooting against them as a kid. per Wiltfong after a conversation with Matuska last night

I still dont get it, as a Notre Dame fan, if I were an athlete, I could never see myself even accepting an offer from Michigan or U$C. I dont know, I was recruited for soccer, no one major, but I have a hard time seeing myself being persuaded by a coaching staff from a team that I despised growing up.

Haha seriously. If I rooted for ND my entire life growing up, I just couldn't imagine myself accepting an offer, then putting on a Michigan uniform. Especially if ND has offered as well. The thought alone boggles my mind.

Yeah, it sounds like Michigan really impressed him on his visit. It's hard for us as fans to understand but like Luke Neal says, you have to know that you are making a business decision for your future. If you feel especially comfortable at a particular school and think you'll be more successful there, you shouldn't let your childhood allegiances get in the way. Now we just have to convince guys like Matuska and Bosch that they fit in just great at ND ...

I'm fairly confident he'll be Irish. I don't care what is being said right now you don't go from wearing a ND tie to not taking the offer unless he REALLY dislikes the idea of defense (which it appears he doesn't).

His coach calls him a "street-fight football player." Love the toughness. I really hope we knock him over this weekend and get a commitment.

Good hands on film. Good blocker too. Honestly if his heart is with the TE position, and ND wants him at DE, best he go somewhere else. Once you're on the team, it's team first. Until he's on the team, he needs to pick the best situation for him personally. I hate to see kids who settle, then end up riding the bench, or being dis-passionate and then transferring. Seems like a good kid. Hope it works out for him regardless of the path he takes.

I would hav held water bottles for the nd program. If he wants to come to nd bad enough the opportunity is right in front of him

Me too, but that's me without the ability to go start for another team in the position I'd prefer to play. Doesn't mean the kid doesn't love ND if he goes elsewhere to play TE. Just means the kid has his heart set on something ND doesn't want to offer. Don't get me wrong, I'd love him to come play D if that's something that's in his heart too.

I gotta agree with you.. if I was recruited to clean the toilets in the locker room at Notre Dame I'd choose that over being recruited to play QB at USC.. when you love ND, you love ND.. maybe I'm just a crazy fan though, lol

That's exactly what you are. lol

I don't think you can blame someone for doing what they think is best for their future.

Wiltfong spoke with his dad. They left very impressed and saw what they needed to. Loved the quality of people at ND. There is a sense of urgency to make their decision.

I get the feeling we should know one way or the other, about his decision after the Blue Gold game weekend. Hopefully he doesn't feel to strongly about staying at tight end.

Have to think we land him reading the article on ISD. It seems like the decision is simply if he feels comfortable not playing TE. He needs to look at JJ Watt and make the right choice.
