I still think ND.

What changed me from optimistic to merely hopeful was the comments that his cousin's death really impacted the decision. To me, that makes the whole situation too personal to read.

After reading the 247 article about his decision again I still think its ND. One quote from Luke Neal in particular seem to point to ND. It was about Davonte making a business decision and how its about your future and not the next 3 years.

Why have many of you changed your pick to Zona again?

“Arizona possesses a great opportunity because it's an in-state school and it’s close to home,” his father said. “He knows if something were to happen, he would be able to get back home and be around family."

I am really impressed with Davonte's process throughout hissenior year and his recruitment, he and his father obviously make a great team. I love that nothing definitive has leaked, it's his decision and he should control it, I am happy to sit back and watch what happens, but my guess, for what it is worth, is that he is all Irish, he just seems like a Notre Dame type man, but if he does go elsewhere I will still be a big fan and I think he is a success regardless because he and his family will make it so. To me it's refreshing.

You took the words out of my mouth. The kid is a class act and has handled everything the right way in my opinion. Would love to have him but if not I will still root for him.

HA! I don't know if that means calm down people or get ready to start jumping...

I'm guessing it's a "puppet" reference. One insider says something and everyone is saying Zona.. The dad gives a sliver of info and everyone says ND..

If you read all the stories and quotes you'll see that the Neal's masterfully kept this close to the vest while exciting every fan base involved.

Wiltfong says that he believes its between Notre Dame and Arkansas and his gut is telling him the Hogs. He also stated that Jsapp would know more. Jsapp has been avoiding his prediction which 99.9% of the time bodes well for the Irish. I'm just hoping it happens, but until Bk gets that letter of intent through the fax machine, I will remain pessimistic.

Interesting. Never saw Arkansas as a threat. When JSapp is quiet though it almost always meens ND.

I am kind of new with the recruiting thing... This is a serious question, not being a ****, what makes you think JSapp being quiet is a good thing for Notre Dame?

^^ Because if he thought it was someone else he'd just say so, he's usually really close to the vest if he thinks ND.

That's what I've come to suss out since I've been following this.

Sampson on II thinks its ND over Zona in the end. Luke Neal seems to talk to II more. Can anyone else confirm this?

The only thing so far that has made me think it's Arizona is the article where the dad talked about how being at his cousin's memorial service gave Davonte a "clearer picture" about everything. The fact that his dad felt UNC and ND were the best fits and the fact that they didn't visit Arizona still makes me think it could be ND. I definitely think it comes down to ND and Arizona, but have no idea who it will be.

I have noticed Sapp being quiet lately about Neal. If he doesn't think ND he usually does come out and say it. The quiet before the storm perhaps? Fwiw, JC Shurburtt thinks ND as well and he usually tells it straight too.

Some interpret Luke Neal's comments about Davonte's cousin's memorial service to being negative towards the chances of him choosing ND, but I disagree. The comments actually encouraged me he would attend ND when I read it initially. Unfortunately I've had to go through nearly the same situation he and his family are going through, and because of those experiences I'm more aware of Who my Sunday mornings should belong to. Of his final choices, what university would offer the best opportunities for Davonte to have this? Maybe that's what is most important to him as well, and for Luke to have for his son right now. I may be wrong and I'm sure many disagree, but that's what I got from it.
