He is making his way through security.
Is that him, the short person with the bushy hair?
True. People assume that he's gonna swoop in and be a difference maker because of his high school ratings....we may just get a disgruntled bench warmer.
I'm always intriged about how these guys are gonna play out...One man's trash isn't always another mans treasure, it could just be more trash.
Worth it.. Didn't he get 8 holes in one or was that his Dad? I assume being a athlete runs in the genes.rumor is Un would have to sit out a year due to still being on scholarship at University of Houston
By 7 pm this evening 90% of this board will have convinced themselves that it is a done deal that Barr is transferring to ND.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that Robby Toma

Maybe someone with more "know" than me could answer this. If Anthony Barr's father is Tony Brooks, then why is his last name Barr?
he was good in HS but what has he done in college...something about not even getting playing time at ucla makes me wonder about effort/work ethic...but i am only speculating

His mom and his dad are not married. Matter of fact, truth be told, Reggie Brooks is well, let's just say he's not in the picture, and hasn't been for a VERY long time.
Guys, if you're going to rip a kid, a least do a little research. He wasn't a bench warmer - not at all. Not even close. He played a lot - the problem was, he played in a crappy offense which they changed both years he was there, with a crappy QB (seriously, even worse than ND's situation) and a lame duck coach who was in way over his head.
It's like people who rip TJ Jones and Theo Riddick. While they may not be great...do we even know if they're good or not yet? Go watch the games again (I have) and go see how many times they are WIDE open but our QB missed them. Same thing with Barr. Let's see him ply with under a coach who has a clue, with a QB who has a clue.
Kid's got talent, but when you're only blocking and never getting thrown to, how good/bad can we really say you are?

I'll agree with you on Riddick....but TJ has clearly shown he can't catch a pass. He's always had trouble hanging onto the ball, even when Rees got it to him.
As for Barr...where's my buzz buzz when I need it? lol

not arguing too hard for anyone...its the girl-handed lack of focus receiving that actually got Crist flustered, and killed him.
As for Theo and TJ...both had drops that made me nuts...but concentration is the issue with TJ. I saw TJ make some leaping grabs that were HORRIBLY thrown balls. I think with some maturity, and the leadership mantel on him...you may see a different guy...Theo, I just think he's a running back, and not a solid receiving threat other than a safety vlave or on short, quick routes...he just doesn't seem to deal well w/ anything over 10 yards.
Totally agree with the bolded. TJ made some outstanding catches last year that didn't necessarily stand out because if the ball had been properly thrown they woud have been easy. And Riddick just never looked comfortable at receiver.
Seriously excited about Anthony Barr now in spite of myself, but we actually have no reason to believe that he is even considering transferring, do we? How did the rumor even start?
Is this whole thing just invented here out of nothing??
Uh, as far as I can tell, yeah. I would love to know where any of this came from. All I am seeing as sources is links to other threads, that link to other threads. Some one show me some meat to this story!
I am sorry to hear he doesn't have a relationship with his uncle. That is a shame. Actually I heard he didn't have a relationship with his father, but did speak with his Uncle Reggie.
As far as any of the other discussions, the kid is 6'5" tall, between 230 and 240 lbs, fast enough to double UCLA's rushing yardage when he is in, and is Academic All PAC 12. I guess some people say things before they bother to check the facts. Oh, yeah, and surgery for a meniscus tear only slowed him down for five or six weeks.
This kind could play RB, TE, or WR on offense. He could play any LB on defense, or a bunch of other positions that have not been invented yet.

Whoa!!!!! Sorry Bog, I messed up there. I meant he doesn't have a relationship with his FATHER, but in my haste to post I wrote his uncle's name. My apologies to the board...
Re: the topic,
I am completely down with players who want to transfer. No doubt they have to meet all requirements like Amir/Prestwood have. My concern is why we would allow transfers for those with 1 year of eligibility left...? To me that would not make sense.
Armond. Not a big fan of this discussion when it was on the table.

???? Isn't the whole of this discussion ignoring the transfer-of-credit equivalency problem of trying to match other curricula with Notre Dame's unusual [nearly lock-step] four-year target degrees, containing very specific course presentations ??? Or maybe the way I went through school, and thought still generally went on, is no longer true, and all sorts of equivalent transfer courses are substitutable. At a minimum, the "theology" courses would probably be sticking points to a smooth integration and I'll bet that there are many other courses that are considered by each department NOT to have equivalencies out there. That would put any "late" entering student with a bunch of "wasted" credits, and behind the pace for graduation. As I said, I don't know how it's done now.
