OSU has 23 LOI's in today and most are expecting at least 1 more. According to the most recent roster update, the 23 puts them over their 82 limit.

Would any of those schools still have room for him?

The only reason the Bama's, FSU's, tOSU's of the world do not have any room is because they do NOT want them!!! The over-signing, grey-shirting has been and is the norm for these schools!!

All of them will have plenty of room. To be fair to Alabama, Saban tells a lot of these kids that they are getting a one-year scholarship.

Well his pitch to Landon Collins was that they are an NFL Pipeline so to speak...So he'd have to at least be thinking Landon will have a 3 yr scholarship...There are always exceptions to the rule though ;)

And that they can hook people up with jobs outside of football...as, say, an office assistant.

lol, is this a joke?

Honestly, it's not. I live in Alabama and hear recruits say this all the time, "coach told me this is a one year renewable scholarship and I have to compete and perform to keep it."

Saban has his program at the point where he can do this becuse the defense is so dominant and because a lot of the kids that the SEC schools recruit aren't surrounded by people who are giving them a lot of good long-term advice.

hahaha, true...I have a feeling that soon after he hears his name in the NFL Draft, that relationship along with her job will be NO MORE!

I give her job and their relationship a 10 month shelf life-- tops. There will be no need to keep her on once Landon gets to campus, gets in the system, and starts to feel comfortable. By then, Saban will need to offer that job to a 2013 recruit's girlfriend.

wow.. that's a travesty.. basically tells these kids there's a good chance I'm going to cheat you out of a college education you could have earned anywhere else.. how can he get away with this sh!t?

ESPNU interviewed Urban Meyer about his class. He was talking about the highlights of the class and mentioned Adolphus, Spence, Pittman, and then mentioned the name Neal.

He may have simply mispoke and said the wrong name when he really meant someone else but the more logical part of me doesn't feel very good about our chances now.

Maybe he sees a better situation at ND now that DGB decided for Houston.

How many kids now at OSU are going to need to get Arrested, Flunk, or break team rules in the next month?

BIG need for us now. Hopefully the chips falling where they have lets him see the gaping need we have at WR. And without kicking anyone off the team to do so IMO!

Is that counting EE's? I understand they can play games with 82 but the 25 is a hard cap for LOI's today, right? Or are they grayshirting now?

No, the 82 is a hard cap and the 25 can be manipulated by EEs. With the 25 today, they currently have 85 on scholarship. Their sanctions limit them to 82 so they will need to trim some fat as is and are still after Diggs and Neal.

Also, they have at least one gray shirt as Archie Griffin's son won't be on scholarship any more and will be a "walk on"

Neal has become our biggest need (obviously)

We really need one more playmaker in this class not just for the team, but the sanity of the fans

I would like him, yes. But if he signs elsewhere, I'm not freaking out. We can sign a ton of guys next year.

I don't think that's the issue. I think the issue is will we? A lot of us think that the lack of improvement in wins had to do with this year's disappointing class. Do we see more than 8 wins in 2012? Will we get a lot of top talent with another year of single digit wins? Hard to be optimistic here.

Had we ended with 17 with Greenberry, would it have changed the entire mood of the board? It seems like everyone slit their wrists because a fast kid with good hands wanted to play in a system where he has a chance to touch the ball 20 times a game.

So much drama in the room.

'13 recruits are going to realize that they have a chance to play early if they look at the smaller class in front of them. Hell, that was one of the reasons I chose to play college ball where I did (Only 1 OL recruit worth a damn in the class ahead of me). I knew it would mean a better chance for me to play early once the Seniors graduated. It did and I earned three letters.
