im going to assume no, unless he just shows up at his house unannounced tomorrow. 28th is last day for any in homes

The fact that there hasn't been any talk about another in home visit says a lot. They must know there pretty much out of it.

This is a mystery to me... considering he accepted his UA announcement with a ND jacket on... I am very curious to hear what changed and if his reason for choosing ND in the first place was a 40 year decision - the ND degree did not lost value, your chance to start if you are that good(see Lynch, Tuitt, Niklas, Ect) did not change, the ND track team is still about the same, and the location of South Bend is still the exact same. Make no mistake, as long as Darby does not play ND, I wish him nothing but the best... But I am very curious to hear what cause the de-commit...

Not saying I buy any of this, but all the below has been suggested. Honestly doesn't matter. He needs to go where he's happy. Wish him well where ever he lands, just would wish him better at ND.

A. Better track team
B. Arguably better recruiting class the last few years
C. Better climate
D. Hotter chicks
C. Clicked with other players
D. ND kept recruiting other CBs
E. A degree is a degree is a degree
F. Other coaches kiss up better
G. It just felt wrong
H. Insurance policy no longer needed.

1.) Staff f*cked up somehow (as is rumored)

or

2.) His priorities changed about what was important to him (women, climate, difference in degree, etc.)

or

3.) Track is a much bigger influence than anyone let on (or maybe Darby, himself, realized until track came around in his senior year)

or

4.) Insurance policy

Much like the licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, the world may never know

Sometimes kids just change their minds, you know? I was obsessed with one college until the spring of my senior year of high school, when all of a sudden I didn't want to go there any more and ended up trying to decide between two other schools. Looking back now it's still kind of hard to explain why even to myself. So who knows. If it's something Cooks or the staff did though, hopefully they learned a lesson.

I don't think this is much of a mystery at all: as many people predicted beforehand, the UA game where Darby was the only ND commit proved to be the danger that it looked like from the outset. Darby became friends with a bunch of studs going to FSU, was probably told by them that ND would just be bringing in an average class (remember, no Gunner at this point), and felt like he wanted to be part of something special.

I think many of these kids lose sight of the grander scope of recruiting: namely, that it depends not just on their own class, but on the ones before theirs and after theirs. If our DB haul this year could have replicated the D-line haul of last year, we would have had a virtually impervious defense in the coming years. Short of some experience at the QB position, I think we have all the talent we need on offense (don't get me wrong, I wouldn't turn down Agholor, Neal, etc.).

Can you still have in-homes tomorrow? I've heard "yes" but someone else said the quiet period started tomorrow or something.

Hmm.... interesting... wonder if Florida comes back for a round #2 in-home with Poole or something like that... also interested to see if Kelly pays anyone a visit.

Kelly doesn't seem like the type to waste a few days at crunch time.... unless he's already wrapped things up. Just surprised we haven't heard about any BK or Diaco visits.

Back on topic.... this decommit is the one blemish on an otherwise near-perfect class. And because it came so late we whiffed on Rios because we slow-played him, slow-played Yuri Wright during the football season so we didn't lock him up and twitter gate thanks to jilted Michigan fans had time to happen, aren't going to flip Poole, and might not get Standifer because we got in late and he is trying to take an online language class last minute.

I had the same thought earlier today. Kelly's staff are clearly tremendous recruiters, but we've gotten some seriously sh!t luck this cycle. Imagine if just a couple of those things had gone our way, or if Armond had been cleared...

We'd be talking about an historically good class. The only sour note about this cycle is how close it came to being truly epic.

Just our friggin' luck. Can't wait to hear exactly what Cooks did wrong to botch this; or if there is a lot more to the story.

I would do unspeakable things to know.
