We were in the mix (and actually the leader for a moment) because of the Armond transfer opportunity. Without that + Tosh leaving Cal we were significantly behind. Can't see him going to ND with how we didn't clear his brother after giving the family the impression that we likely would before we got a hold of Armond's medical records.

Just putting 2 and 2 together it seems like Auburn is still telling the Armsteads that there is still a possibility that Armond could be cleared to go there while we have came out and told them that Armond cannot be cleared medically at ND. Thus Arik is still considering Auburn because he is holding onto the hope of playing with his brother but the more likely scenario is he stays on the west coast.

To me, Auburn is the random school whose only shot is clearing Armond. And for all the talk about wanting to stay close, it really sounds like Tosh, not necessarily distance, was the biggest thing Cal had.

What ND has going for it is a really likable, good basketball coach, and a bunch of great kids on a 3-4 D-line that has the potential to be elite, a great position coach, and excellent academics. There are reasons to assume we trail, but I haven't seen anything to make me think we're out.

For the record, most, including myself still believe Cal/Pac 12 but it just sounds like nobody truly knows.
