I'm thinking BYU would be the best bet. They would be the easiest tickets to get because how many BYU fans will show up and for the ones that do show up I would imagine they are a relatively friendly fan base.

The problems with UM would be getting a ticket and an unfriendly fan base (same with Purdue). With Miami, it would be off campus which sucks and a farther trip for me. :) haha

Anyone know of a good cheap hotel in Chicago? Money is really my only problem with the U game.

SB, or Chicago, we should take over the closest state park and make it an irish camping extravaganza. Hire a bus to cart everyone to and from the tailgate....

Keep in mind that early games usually have the best weather, so anytime in Sept or early Oct. I'm going to the scUM game so obviously that one works. Either a home game or Chi-town works for me; honestly I really don't care where the game is as long as I have beer, b!tches we get an Irish victory!!!!!

I'm going to the U game. I'm staying with a buddy who lives, literally, right across the street from Soldier field.

If we are all serious about doing this, I will offer up to get a couple guys in to stay with me and my buddy. If he's not cool with that (which, he will be) I'm willing to go in on a hotel with you guys.

If we are going to ND, however, I couldn't tell you where the hell we would stay. And I agree that the scUM game is gonna be horrible when it comes to tickets.

I will throw my hat in for the BYwho game.

However....be forwarned....anyone that stays with me, must like to drink beer and stubble in at all hours of the night. I don't get away from the wife too often, so I wanna party.

I may fight a scUM fan if we go to that one. Just sayin.

Purdue game tickets will be very easy to get! I have been the past 4 years. I live in La Porte so any game would work for me. Also I hate Purdue with every ounce in my body so....

Ok, I'm new here...again, but used to be on here years ago. I grew up in South Bend, don't live that far away from it now, and make just about every home game. Been to well over 100 home games and have some insight and suggestions. First, getting multiple parking passes to any of the parking lots close will be just about impossible. I don't like White Field because it's too far away, and too many police just looking for reasons to bust peopl. Now, there are some GREAT tailgaiting areas along N. Twykingham. I have the number and can block out an area just for Irish Envy tailgate. It's only a 1/4 mile from the stadium, there's live music, a stones throw from a number of local bars and it's not crazy expensive. There are a ton of tailgaters, and it's right across the street from the Joyce. Now as far as which game, I would choose either Purdue (will still be quite warm), BYU, or Pitt. That way everyone should be able to score tickets. Even if you don't have tickets when you come, you can always get them before the game no problem at the stadium. Worst case scenarion you go watch in a bar, but I've never had too even showing up to a game with no ticket. As far as a place to stay withouth having to pay for an entire weekend there are many who sublet rooms in their homes you can find on craigs list, and other places we can discuss as game day approaches. Feel free to email me with any questions!

No matter what game it ends up being, we got to have IrishTrinity there to break in his bagpipes.

Well, as a Purdue student... I'll be there cheering on the Irish for that game. I'll most likely be with some Purdue friends that are more loyal student/fans lol.

My wife and I are already planning on coming up to the Miami game! We can all make fun of her for being a Miami fan!!!!!

PS I will also be on the sidelines for the OU game! My buddies dad is boys with Bobby Stoops! I will wear something not to ND, cause I am technically a guest of coach Stoops but I need something that can be spotted on tv and a hint of Irish....1st thought was Irish Guard costume?

Welcome back! Great info bro.

Any game works for me. Best game is a game in SB for all out-of-towners, b/c you have to experience the campus for the entire week-end.

People can also get together for the Chicago game as well, as many people will be there as well. IMHO it should be a South Bend game, and then the Miami game for anybody that will be up there as well...

I voted for the Purdue game cause I will most likely be with my wife and the last game she went to in SB was the Syracuse game when we almost lost our toes due to frostbite.

If it is another game in SB I will be in though.

Just tell me where I can roll my cooler to and let's do this!!

Just some information for those who worry about flying into Chicago and getting to South Bend. You can always take the train from Millennium station in Chicago to South Bend. It's only like 12 dollars each way. It runs seven days a week. The station in the Bend is only like 1.5 miles from campus. Plus you can take alcohol on with you and drink.

BTW I vote Purdue. Tickets are not a tough get for that game.

Wow great info! Thank you

I don't know how all this is going to end up working out, I hope we can get something together. I think it would be a lot of fun.

I took the train down there for the Air Force game this year. The train is about 1:45 minutes if i remember correctly. But as stated before, you can drink on it. The only problem is once you get to South Bend Airport is that you are still a little ways from campus. We elected to take a cab (it was there and was easy to do), but that was pretty expensive. We paid more for the cab than the train. Anyway, the train is definitely an option if you are flying into Chicago.

I really hope this works out. I am already lookin forward to next season and hopefully tailgating with some of you clowns.

If we don't go to that game can we just beat up some random guy, then put a scUM hat on him when we're done so we feel ok about it?

Pretty sure that there are free (or really cheap)shuttles from SBN airport to the ND campus on game days. They run like every 20 min.

I'm into drinkin' a bunch of beer and stumbling, but not beating up anyone unless Kiffy shows up. Second thought, I'll let you two beat up Kiffy, and I'll chat his wife up.
