I GUARANTEE ND won't clear him if questionable. Don't we all deep down inside believe if ND cleared Armond that him and Erik would already be in South Bend.

There's a third Armstead brother?!?!?! Will we have enough schollies for him too????

Debbie downer here.......but I still feel like we have no shot.

Plan A was Cal, that fell apart so you'd think if we were a serious Plan B he would just pick us and move on. That didn't happen, I think he is just stringing us along......using the old ND Insurance ticket.

I am sure many of you disagree and I hope your right and I am wrong.

Do we know for certain that Armond has NOT been cleared by our doctors or are we still waiting on a prognosis? IF the latter is the case, we are most definitely still in it. Still might be in it assuming it's the former, though I do like our chances better if ND is still an option for Armond.

New update on 247 ( from Oregon reporter). Basically ND is still likely Top 3 but apparently distance is now a factor (according to him).

He thinks it comes down to Cal and Oregon with Auburn and ND being too far.

Long Sapp update:

Saban, Sarkesian, Tedford, Chizik, Kiffin, and someone from Oregon are doing in-homes this week.

Sapp still thinks we are in the top 3 along with Cal and from what I gather, Oregon. He thinks distance is what is holding ND back. I can elaborate more but the rest is just guessing. He did say Gus likes the new Cal D-line coach.

I guess Saban and Chizik should save themselves the trip then.

It's interesting that Sapp thinks we're sitting that well... after watching the interview video that Keith Arnold posted I got the sense that we were really an afterthought. We were one of the last ones he mentioned. It's hard for me to believe that we're that high on his list.

On the other hand, that Syracuse win has to help us with his recruitment... it makes our basketball program look a lot better. Thank God the tournament isn't until after NSD.

Being mentioned in the middle, in a list, is far less important to a person then the first or last listed. Unless he actually stated that was his order of interest in the schools, you shouldn't worry about being mentioned last because it really doesnt matter. Be happy were still ON the list.

Having finally watched that video, I don't think you can read too much into the way he listed the schools he was considering ... may have been that Cal and Auburn are uppermost in his mind because they are his favorites, but this may also have just been a kid a little nervous about doing an on-camera interview (with a hot chick) and fumbling for words. The only thing that really stood out to me was at the very end, when she asked him what he is looking most for in a school and he answered immediately and with conviction, "balance between basketball and football." Without knowing exactly what he meant by that, I think the Syracuse win has to help. Basketball is apparently a big deal to him.

We were only in this if Armond was given clearance to play by ND. Every move he has made clearly made things look like Cal was number 1 until they lost their coach. We can move on with this one.

It wasn't Sapp, it was the Oregon 247 guy and he thought we were a bridesmaid.

RT @KGWSports: KGW's Michael Berk reports Chip Kelly working to finalize a deal that would make him head coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs.

I would think that would put an end to the Arik to Oregon stuff, right?

Might make him think about a coach's job security too and whether the coach is going to be there all four years. I think Kelly's in a better position in that regard than Tedford at this point.

There must be sanctions coming (just thinking out loud...don't quote me on anything).

Wow that would be huge. But would Chip's style of play translate to the pros? I guess his QB is coming out in the draft this year; he could try to snag him. But Josh Freeman looks like a franchise QB and he is about the opposite of what Chip needs for his offense.

It's not likely Kelly changes his offensive philosophy if he goes to the pros, and if this is true Tampa is in store for a nice shakeup.

In the meantime, if he wants to get rid of Freeman the Browns would be happy to take him

He better, the Oregon spread won't work in the NFL. The blocking schemes would get absolutely blown up in the pros...he's going to have to adapt.

if a player has a pulse, the browns will take them (Browns fans run in my family, poor b*st*rds)

topic should probably be moved out of Arik's thread tho, but thanks to those who reported Kelly might be headed to the NFL.. hadn't heard anything about it

Now if we could only get past that whole distance factor.
Helped with Gunner hurting big time with Arik.
Hey Arik I can guarantee you a game in your home state next year and your Junior year.

ND plays a game in Cali every year. Stanford and Southern Cal alternate.
