Safety for sure.
Whiskey,
How were his performances at 7-on-7's and at what level of competition? Was he going against all/mostly D-1 prospects?
Guys, I played a lot of CB in my day and coached some, so I thought I'd share my impression of Standifer (longer than I thought it'd be):
I just watched his film and came away more impressed than I thought I would be. He plays in Illinois 6A (IL goes up to 8A), which isn't great, but not horrible either. Plays great for 6A, but it's unclear how he'd perform at higher level because he doesn't display elite athleticism. Nelson Agholor for example plays against inferior competition, but one can more easily see his skills jump out because his athleticism is elite - of which you all are aware. I think that he projects as a CB in ND's system and would start out there if he comes to ND, but is more projectable at S. He's aggressive and a very willing tackler for a CB, which ND likes. Is going to learn to be a little more in control and drop his butt when tackling in the open at the D-1 level.
As others have noted he has great ball skills and anticipation, but has a little stiffness in his swivel (hips - it's the first thing I look at in CBs), which is why he would play S at Michigan for example. Overall, he looks like a very intriguing DB prospect for ND, the type of 3-star that exceeds his class ranking because he's going to play to beat you every snap. There are just more questions about how often he's going to get beat by better athletes. ND's scheme could mitigate some of that. But he'll have to rely on superior instincts and technique more so than the Darby's and Poole's of the world.
Nice critique.

I'm concerned Wright is in no man's land: he in some deep chingada.

So if Standifer commits, what are we looking at with Darby? Does that all but push him out?
I really hope we stick with Yuri also. If we can't get Darby, I really would like to have both Standifer and Wright.
I don't think the staff would give up on Darby just because Standifer commits. Darby is a game changer for ND at much more than just the CB position in and of itself. We're also goining balls to the wall for Poole it seems. Standifer fills a need and has good potential, but I think that landing one of Darby, Poole or (assuming his offer is not lifted) Wright is the staff's end-game here.

Loved my visit at ND the coaching staff and support system is great... Definitely #1 on my list
just watched his tape again, love how it's so easy for him to run while looking back for the ball. He would be a great addition to our Defensive backfield.

Kid reminds me of Robert Blanton to be honest.

Said he needs another year of Spanish. If admissions okays him taking a course online, he will commit on signing day. Feels confident it will happen.
