Excellent post. One thing is for certain, just as golden pointed out, both options are being pursued so that there is a Plan B.

Which school is Plan A and which one is Plan B though. Nobody really knows. I'm not even totally sure Arik and Armond know. In reality, there is enough doubt about things being cleared at either school, they may simply jump at the first school that clears them.

I agree that we can't know how much significance to attach to this. Maybe the kids prefer ND, but they want the decision to be made easy, i.e., if Armond CAN'T go to Auburn, they can choose ND with no misgivings. It's not great news but we don't know whether it's terrible news either.
