I really think of all recruits left, Fuller is the one I believe we need most. This is me also thinking Darby will re-commit after the BK home visit. So behind the Darby re-commit, I think Fuller is right behind him, kinda like a 1A-1B situation.

still a slight chance for Neal, but i'd say our chances with fuller are a little better, however, hard to get a read on Neal's recruitment.

X2 Neal and Fuller would take the 12 class to whole other level. If we didn't have such a DIRE need at CB I could live with one TEE every year. I had such high hopes of Tee and Darby shutting it down. We'll see...

You know what though? If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong and won't be afraid to admit it. If they don't want to come to ND, nothing you can really do about it. Other things then just football come into factor usually and it's hard to overcome things such as location and weather. Some kids also don't want an academic challenge. Nothing wrong with any of that. I'll take a 3* recruit who has desire and passion to play and will stop at nothing to achieve greatness then a 5* who expects everyone to lay down for him and really isn't interested in the program.

Downgraded to a 4 :s: and 97 rating overall on 247.
That's stupid if it's solely based on the Army practice and game. The kid played WR/slot all week, which isn't a position he plays in high school! So he had to learn everything on the fly in a 5 day period.

Who cares? That just means that we are gonna get him at a bargain. Haha. We all know how good this kid is so why does it matter if he is listed as a 4* instead of a 5* on some recruiting website. All I know is that this kid can play and would make a great addition to this class.

Seriously, does it really matter? The kid can play and it won't make one iota of a difference whether he's rated a 3, 4, or 5 *.

From our perspective as fans it shouldn't matter, you are right. On the recruiting trail however it does matter some. When future recruits (Class of 2013) see that ND is landing 5 :s:'s in this year's class it defintely can have an impact. Just think back to all the kids that mentioned last year's haul as having a positive impact.

Also, 5 :s:'s increase class rankings, which also has a positive impact on the trail.

Does anyone know what type of offense Rutgers runs? Certain schools, like Arizona (now under D!ckRod) and Georgia Tech, are probably a better fit for Fuller schematically, but I don't think Rutgers utilizes a run-oriented spread.

I ask because most commentators seem to think Rutgers is the team to beat. Normally I'd love our chances head-to-head against Rutgers, but after Savon Huggins and Miles Shuler last year, I'm wondering what Rutgers is offering that we aren't (aside from being in NJ)

Baylor, Arizona, and ND are fighting for his final OV.

That would be huge if we edge out RichRod for the final OV. I never really felt Baylor was a major player here, but AZ definitely could have pushed the DRob v2.0 thing on him BIG TIME.

And the Pat White 2.0 thing. But now that Fuller is "95% sure" we're getting his last OV, the question is whether ND can beat out the schools he's already OV'd-- UCLA, TCU, Rutgers, and Nebraska.

I tend to lean towards RU being the team to beat PRIOR to his OV to ND. If/when he gets on campus, I got a GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD feeling about things. Kind of a la Golson last year.

Pro style, that's why Huggins was so big on them. He was convinced he needed a FB to be a successful college running back.

There's no way a pro-style program is seriously recruiting Fuller as a QB. If his heart is set on QB and Rutgers currently leads, he's gotta be ours once he OVs.

A pro-style QB Fuller is not. He was born to run the Spread Option. I'm sure he will be aware of this when choosing his destination.

Is that "95% sure" business a surmise from one of our posters or is that a quote from fuller?---If we get the visit, personally i'm 80% sure we get the commit--but have to get the visit first of course.

Some guy on the ND 247 board twittered Devin about it.

Just so you see see it.

Guy asked him via twitter if he would be visting ND. He responded, "I am 95% sure I will."

It is hard to judge these kind of statements. we have had recruits say they are 100% or 98% then GONE.
