Maybe Arik just wants a night away from dad to party it up a bit on a college campus...as a top recruit. I wouldn't blame him.

This is excellent news, and suggests that ND is still an option for both.

I have always thought that the x-factor for us would be Tuitt, Nix, and Lynch. They seem like goofballs who would be fun to hang out with. We'll see.

It makes sense that Arik is not paying to come to ND a second time and is flying round trip on Auburn's dime. His time table is crazy. Sounds like a high school senior.

As far as visits, there probably are no rules for visits by transfer students since they are not prospects. Is he still enrolled at USC?

"Not saying they're ND bound, don't want to be quoted saying that lol, saying if they stay together, I think it will be ND
I don't think Armond can transfer in-conference, my gut is if they decide to play together its ND, otherwise, they'll split up"

Well Biggins is as big of a West Coast homer as there is, so him saying that has to sound good for ND.

I thought I saw he just recently got a draft grade. But I could be mistaken.

Just saw some 2010 highlights of him. Once he shakes off the rust this kid will be a major difference maker.

Gotcha...that had to be it. If I saw it than more than likely it was on this site.

Wouldn't AU and ND be OVs, thus free visits?

Why?

Recruits get 5 Official Visits to help them make their college decision the year that they're being recruited which was 2007 for Armond. Those are use 'em or lose 'em Officials. I've never heard of them being "bankable" for a rainy day 4 or 5 years down the road.

Never said they were "bankable," but there appears to be some confusion over whether or not a graduate transfer gets to visit a school on its dime or not.

There's confusion about most things on the internet when you consider the credibility of the sources.

I've only seen Official "Free" visits in NCAA regs for high school recruits. Check the NCAA regs. They are online.

I've been trying to post since 10:30 AM but IE stopped working on my Droid... gives me an error and force closes every time I try to type a post.

Looks like a lot of the info has been corrected now. Heard it from the horses mouth that Arik has filed all his paperwork to EE for ND and that we're in the same exact position we were in a couple days ago with Arik. I can also say that at this point in time, and this is all very apt to change if he loves his OV, Auburn trails Cal and ND by an awful lot for Arik. I also heard that even if Armond wants to go to Auburn that Arik is going to make his own decision and they aren't a package.

As for news reported from 3rd party sources, Armond is still cleared to go to ND, but Auburn is also now apparently an option (it seems to follow what Whiskey posted a couple pages ago about the Masoli rule not being in effect yet). We'll have to see how his visits go...

Last thing on Arik... people think he's a Cal lean because his "bros" go there (i.e. Bryce Treggs and Shaq Thompson) but you have to realize with the Nor Cal boys Tee and Deontay going to ND along with Amir Carlisle it's really a moot point. Then you also have to realize distance doesn't play as much of a factor for him as it did for guys like Shaq... just look at how he considered Auburn, Texas, ND, and Oregon in addition to Cal as his top 5. He wants to go where he's the best fit and most comfortable. ND might still be that without Armond. Or it could be Cal. Or it could be Auburn. Just got to wait and see... and pray a bunch :)

PS. Who else realllllllllly wishes we had gone all in on Marcus Rios right now? Sigh.

So, just speculating here, but most believe that Auburn is not a major player here. Maybe Arik feels he owes the staff a visit for their recruiting efforts, and is taking Dad and Armond along (I find it hard to believe that Arik would choose AU two days after a visit). Armond and Dad are heading to ND to finalize a transfer (I don't see a lot of reasons why they would be making two trips right before Arik/Armond have to enroll). They all meet back at the church where they announce they will be Irish.

I would love to see this transfer come to fruition, even if Arik doesn't choose ND. Armond would add another quality and experience player on that D-line which will be key for that awful schedule of next year.
