Mississippi State CB commit Will Redmond says, in addition to ND, he's hearing from GA, UNC and Vandy. He makes ND official Jan. 20.

OSU trying to get him to visit as well as Kimbrow.

Remember Hinton was his recruiter and is the reason he set up the OV to ND in the first place.

I really want this kid, he is electric.

Going to have to pull some serious magic out of the hat for Redmond to leave MS State. He has stated on several occasions that he was 100% commited to State. He wants to see ND because, "It is college football" (his words in an interview with a local sports reporter when asked why he was thinking of going on an OV to ND). From everything I have read and heard, Redmond will sign with MSU.

He has also commented that he will be glad when he can sign with State to put an end to all the rumors. Anything can happen if he comes for a visit, but a local reporter has written an article claiming that he is NOT taking any more visits. We will see when the 20th gets here. I hope he does because, like I have posted before, if he feels that ND "is college football" then a visit will make a major impact.

NCAA investigating Mississippi State Bulldogs over recruiting - ESPN

Mississippi State on Thursday confirmed an ongoing NCAA investigation into a "potential recruiting irregularity." The school said the investigation is "nearing an end" and it will cooperate fully.

Wide receivers coach Angelo Mirando resigned Sunday, less than two weeks before the season opener against Jackson State, in the wake of an ongoing NCAA investigation related to his recruitment of at least one player on the Bulldogs' roster.

On Sunday, a statement released by the school said Mirando resigned because of "unforeseen personal issues." In the statement, Mirando said, "It is in my best interest to resign from Mississippi State." He also said he wanted to "stress that these issues are personal."

Mississippi State freshman defensive back Will Redmond was the subject of an NCAA interview that his coach at Memphis East High School gave, according to the coach, Marcus Wimberly.

"I told them as far as I was concerned his recruitment was on the up and up," Wimberly said. "Who knows what they're looking for. Will chose his school because he felt most comfortable and it was close to home."

The Bulldogs hired former Minnesota coach Tim Brewster to fill Mirando's position, a source told ESPN earlier Thursday.

Mirando was a graduate assistant under head coach Dan Mullen for two seasons before becoming a full-time assistant in 2011.

Brewster was fired as Minnesota coach in 2010 after going 15-30 with the Gophers, including 6-21 in the Big Ten. He had agreed earlier this month to become an analyst with the CBS Sports Network.

These past couple weeks haven't been very good for Memphis-area-freshmen playing in the SEC.

Talked to my buddy this morning on Miss State's staff and he was saying that the entire group of guys that was on that 7 on 7 team are being investigated. The assistant that resigned at State is probably going to be guilty of knowing what was going on and not reporting it. The people that have violated the rules according to my buddy are the punks that coached these guys in the 7 on 7 tourneys. I am sure that if you dig deep enough, there will be a booster from Auburn, Vandy, Miss State, and others that paid for these punks (I refuse to call them coaches) influence. Also, looks like Redmond will have to go through the clearinghouse again next year. I am going down to Starkville this weekend to visit and I will find out more. If any of you are interested, I will fill you in more about it Monday.

No No No .... If this is anything like Terrell Pryor and Maurice Clarett then he was simply driving a loaner car while his car was in the shop.

It's fairly common for lower level SEC teams to get popped for something...

Am I the only one who finds it hard to believe that the dirty programs are the ones that never win anything and the programs that win are the ones that are clean and just have, I don’t know,… tremendous weight training programs???
