Anyway, Yuri, like Darby, should be able to come in and compete DAY ONE.

The important thing is to get one of those guys...we can't come away empty handed given our situation in the secondary

You can say things like that, but not in a recruits thread. That's my guess (and don't feel bad, mine was deleted too, lol).

HAHAHAHA!! My bad....sorry to the mods. I'll save that stuff for when they're enrolled.

Doubtful, Yuri is extremely raw and I don't think he'll ready to play for at least one year maybe two. Huge upside and athletic ability but he has a lot to learn about playing CB.

Good effort troll, but anyone with half a brain knows "character issues" don't matter to brady hoke after he keeps Stonum on the team after serving multiple jail sentences.
Character issues can mean something like Hoke and Wright don't get along - not that Wright is a bad kid. I'm not suggesting Michigan runs a particularly clean or high minded program.

I don't think we know anything about his personal life/lifestyle yet. I also don't think we know enough to say he's too raw to make an impact right away unless you've watched a lot of video on him/know him personally.

Let's just pray he comes to ND because he said the coaches want him "really, really bad".

Maybe Brady Hoke was angry that Yuri lashed out at the Michigan fan who was badgering him about a commitment he didn't even make.

Kid is a decent tackler. Not a lot of power in his hits but wraps up fairly well. Looked very flat footed in his back pedal.

I know nothing about football, but he looked disinterested on some of those plays from the snap. I know it was an all star game so

Why would we have to consider the source? That was how Yuri looked on Saturday. It wasn't deceptively edited.

Exactly, consider the source

Actually mgoblog thought he didn't look very good either. So it wasn't edited, they even showed him getting beat badly by DGB. I personally thought he played ok, he was giving the receivers alot of cushion which may or may not been because of the coaches. Unless you think they specifically edited the video to make him look bad?

Michigan fans trying to make Yuri out to be "bad" is hilarious. The kid has incredible upside. He has nowhere near the pure blinding speed of Darby, but he's much longer and is an absolutely great fit as a zone coverage corner. Will he ever have the cover corner upside of Darby? No, probably not because very few people run a 4.3 which allows you recovery speed for mistakes.

The simple fact of the matter is that Yuri Wright is a really, really good prospect who isn;t polished because he hasn't been playing football for very long. There is a reason why Dorial Green-Beckham said he was the most talented player he faced in the Army game/practices. And that's because he has a rare frame that allows him to cover a bigger WR.

Yet some people (Michigan) want to harp on him for getting beat on a quick slant on the goaline in an all-star game? Isolated against supposed "once in a lifetime" talent DGB? Sheesh.....

If anybody seriously bases their opinion on an allstar game like Yuri was playing in, is sorely misguided in terms of recruiting. If Aaron Rodgers throws 3 picks in the Pro Bowl, is he now terrible? Negative. Consider their body of work, look at who offered him, study actual game footage and not one silly allstar game.

Armani Reeves is also visiting this weekend I think. Wonder if it's pressure to get Armani to flip. This is all so very confusing. How quick everything changes. Go from just about full and heading towards a top 5 class to Darby decommit to missing on Westerkamp to not looking like the Armsteads are heading here because Armond was not released to transfer here to Yuri Wright/Michigan still being a possibility.

Visit appears to be back on, him and his coach to visit. Per Rivals/mgoblog
So does this mean the Scum fans are not saying that he isn't very good and there are character concerns? I guess those character concerns weren't much at all.

I consider the source and move on.

He actually had some pretty easily correctable things in that tape.
  • He was nervous to break on the curl routes as fast as I know he can because he didn't want to get beat deep on a double move.
  • He turned his hips too soon down on that goal line play. Again, seeming to worried about the fade.
  • He made a bad cut under that deep slant route.
It seems to me that if he just plays with more confidence and gets coached up on his technique a bit more, he'll be golden.

Not sure why we're even having this conversation.

Wright's the #1 CB on 247, and the #3 CB on Rivals and ESPN. That doesn't happen by accident.

Obvious case of scUM fans crying sour grapes.

Not confusing at all. Kids want to play tor a team that wins. Not teams that lose bullshit games... usf,Michigan,fl. St,... I love nd as much as anyone on this board but we are going to.miss out on a lot of the elite players because elite players want to play for elite teams...

I do think were are working our way back up but until then, be prepared to miss out on a few.
