I wasn't referring to Darby with that. Mike Stoops has been a recruiting machine, and FSU without him will not be the same. Recruiting landscape just shifted big time in FL.

Why isn't he a head coach yet? This would be a great time for him to leave FSU...

No one knows what happened.

Bingo...

And Anarin relax dude I wasn't coming at you..just saying that as Terry mentioned nobody knows what happened really, and I can easily see how it could rub a potential recruit the wrong way to see people who have no first hand knowledge of the situation putting information out there that basically we told him to **** or get off the pot...especially since as far as we know that could be the furthest thing from the truth...or it could also be dead accurate. I would tend to shy away from drawing conclusions based on what you read..if nothing else the recent Tee situation should teach us that.

I am also not saying I think Darby was 100% committed to ND and not having second thoughts for a while now. I just think at that age, ND could be what he thought he wanted one day, and he could have been unsure the next...back on board the next and so on and so on. Obviously he was taking visits and wanted to see what else is out there, but that doesnt mean that in his mind he wasnt committed to ND until he wasnt committed to ND anymore if that makes sense. Lots of recruits who are committed take all of their visits, and seem to be looking for any reason out there to go elsewhere but then end up staying with their original pledge...hell just last year we had two guy committ, decommit, committ elsewhere then come back yet again.

Some kind of positive news. Douglas can still see him at Notre Dame and is still interested. "its a possbility not ruled out that he wont". Just wants to see if there is a better place for him other than Notre Dame. Per Scout article.

This is good news. There is still hope. I have no doubt that Kelly and staff will be all over this.

I'm relaxed :)

And yeah, no one truly knows. We can all just go on reports and such until Darby comes directly out with it.

Update on 247 makes it sound like it's FSU, LSU or ND.

He doesn't have an LSU offer yet but is looking to visit there next weekend. Coach said Clemson and Maryland are long shots.

does anyone find it ironic that Clemson is the school (supposedly according to IE urban legend) Cooks referenced as the "final straw" due to the, at the time, "pending 2nd visit" there as now being according to darbys coach a "longshot".

recruiting will drive you insane

ps i like our chances in a straight up FSU battle for Ronald. he'll do is visit there, along woiht 20 other guys, will dive in the kool aid...then kelly and the boys get their in home and go for the close once the afterglow of fsu visit diminishes

I would love to get Darby back in the fold. Could you imagine the DB's with Shumate, Wright, Shepard and Darby?

I'd agree with that. FSU doesn't offer anything superior to ND except hot girls. LSU has a superior program though... it'd suck to lose Gunner and Darby to them in the same cycle.

I dont........ He has mentioned lately that track isnt that great at ND so I would assume since FSU DOES have a quality track program that would go against us. I never thought track was a deciding factor until recently. While I do like our chances football to football, adding the track factor might put us behind.
