The weirdest thing is him saying that he felt like the relationship with the ND coaches changed in recent months.... I have no idea what to make of that.

It is crazy though that a guy who trumpeted the 40 year decision angle publicly and in private to guys like Keith Marshall is now looking at Auburn, LSU, Florida State and Clemson as the alternatives. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

We either just got "insurance policied" or he had a complete change of heart in what he was looking for. Those are some of the worst educational schools in the FBS. Best of luck to him. Some people get it, others don't.

This is a loss. No doubt. If we get Wright or Poole which seems likely that we get at least one the loss is not nearly as bad.

It is a little odd to me that he would completely remove ND from consideration considering like a week ago he said he was 100% committed.

Yeah committed since April. Three weeks before NSD he jumps ship.

Diaco, Alford, Martin, Cooks and Kelly with an in-home and I like our chances. We have been through this before guys and we're 2 for 2 (Lynch and Tuitt). If we strike out this time, than oh well we tried. Darby is a great kid and I wish him luck wherever he ends up.

but sorry, this is a huge deal, wooly is right, this is EXACTLY the type of guy ND can't get anymore... this loss goes beyond one guy in one class

I think that is a severe under valuing of what Darby was going to bring to ND, unless you mean the top of the 3 deep.

True...I just can't see him completely removing ND from consideration unless he's been lying this whole entire time...and I wont resort to calling an 18 yr old kid a liar...We have to pull out all the stops and keep Darby in the fold...Our staff has shown it is capable of doing just that...we'll see how it plays out on NSD
