Crazed thinking by me, but maybe someone will see clearer:
A). last season we played seven D-Linemen a lot [EJ, Cwynar, KLM, Lynch, Nix, Tuitt, Hounshell] and a few saw small duty [Schwenke, HWilliams, and I believe some CATs lining up as down D-Line].
B). If we use last season as a template for next, and if Cwynar doesn't return because both Armsteads come on board, then a high-employment seven would have to be: Lynch, Nix, Tuitt, KLM, Hounshell, and both Armsteads IF THEY WERE going to get their wish of "playing together". Talent-wise, that would be pretty formidable if the elder Armstead is healthy and the younger "as advertised".
C). That action would have several consequences: Schwenke would get another year mostly on the pines; Springmann would not see the light of day, and some talk of switching to O-Line might occur; all three of Jones, Day, and Okwara would redshirt. [and Cwynar would not be back]. I leave the debate as to whether these consequences are good or bad for future football historians.
