Westerkamp is a consensus 4:s:.... Dieter is a consensus nobody with 1 FBS offer... the big difference is Westerkamp is a much better route runner. Definitely NOT clones.

Actually like this guy more than Payton. Not a burner, but still good speed. Could be a solid player in the slot.

That's unnecessarily harsh. Dieter is consensus 3 star with a couple of nice offers. I really like the Westerkamp offer and don't see any reason to assume they are clones, but no need to get personal.

I know it has been posted before, but I couldn't find it. How many wrs are we looking to take still? I would guess if Jordan committed this week we would still take Neal... and of course Agholor can show up whenever. But i don't know if that works with numbers. That would leave 4 spots left if those 3 came aboard...

I'm thinking if we take two more then one of the two (or both) have to be: Neal and/or Agholor

Otherwise, probably just one.

I agree we'll probably grab no more than two WRs, and our top two targets are obviously Neal and Agholor.

However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Westerkamp offer to flip long before the other two are ready to make a decision. In that case, we'll likely take Westerkamp + Neal or Agholor. I can't see us taking 6 WRs this cycle.

Interesting. I just think Neal is the perfect slot wr so I would hate to miss out on him if he wants to come. But I am a fan of Westerkamp so if he jumps on the offer more power to him.

i'm not convinced he won't be used on the outside with that leaping ability.

Exactly, I think if we get Westerkamp then the second receiver will have to be either Neal or Agholor.

Quote from scout.com
“I’m never satisfied. I’m trying to get better at everything I do. I want to get my 40-time (claims 4.49) down and be faster.”

Who knows if it's true but he may be faster than some of you think

Sorry if this has been posted, but due to recent emergence I thought I would post some data that was listed on Scout. Seems to be very physical (295 bench with a 40 inch vertical) with a huge desire to improve. Fits the mold BK is looking for. That being a team that will beat the pulp out of everyone on the schedule in a few years. Bring him on!

anyone know his SR stats?

Biography:
2010: All-State selection as a junior. Reports a 295-pound bench and a 40-inch vertical jump. Also chipped in two interceptions on defense.

2009: All-Conference and All-Area selection who helped his team win a state title.

Westerkamp reports a 2.8 core GPA and took the ACT in February.

Westerkamp: “I think I have good speed and I can jump. I can turn a small play into a huge play. I have great hands and quick moves. I love having the ball in my hands.

“I’m never satisfied. I’m trying to get better at everything I do. I want to get my 40-time (claims 4.49) down and be faster.”

Also as you can tell in his Highlight video, he is a very willing blocker.

The difference betweens this kid and Dieter is one word, ATTITUDE!!! I have seen Dieter take plays off, be a show boat and bash ND.

lol Well I didn't quite mean it like that. I love the having the ball in my hands. I'm dynamic like that. I just also enjoy big play blocking.

The burst of speed at 3:22 was the most impressive part to me

Kid would be great in the slot. Mom is a huge ND fan by the way.

I think Westerkamp would be a good recruit for ND. I go to his school so I've seen him play. He doesn't have blow away speed, as suggested by his 40, but he has good agility and a good vertical.

He finished the season with 78 catches for 1,342 yds and 24 tds, and our starting qb was out for the first 6 games. In the state championship he had 11 catches for 331 yds and 5 tds. Westerkamp also holds the Illinois record for catches(235), receiving yds(4618), and tds(68).

Theoretical Question.

Who would we take if Westerkamp, Payton, Agholor, and Neal were all wanting to come?

Essentially, whats our order?

That's the order I was thinking too.

Although, right now it sounds like order of player interest is

Neal, Westerkamp, Payton, and Agholor.

Agholor and Neal are still my two most desired.

Nelson comes no matter what
Westerkamp will come as another outside guy or slot and comes no matter what.
Payton i think goes to Cal
Neal comes no matter what

I believe its a commit first and its yours. Westerkcamp was quoted saying ND would accept this offer right now. Nelson and Davonte come cause Davonte is in the slot and Nelson is Nelson.
