If he visits, I like our chances

Pretty sure he visited back in August. If I remember correctly, he was impressed, but not blown away. I think he liked MSU/PSU better. With the current state of PSU, ND might jump back in there. Sounds like the staff still wants one more DB.

You are correct he did visit in Aug and from the reports he wasn't really blown away.

Says he doesn't know if he will visit again, given the PSU mess I think it is between MSU and OSU.

Not a bad backup plan

We are using the term "back-up" pretty loosely.

First of all, at a lot of positions where we had multiple spots available, we generally had one or two spots available for everyone we liked, and then one spot reserved for the elite Top 10 position player. If the first two spots fill up, you aren't really a "back-up plan" just because you are objectively not as highly regarded as, say, the top two or three kids on the board.

Second, there are other reasons kids don't get offers: lack of interest, academics, fit, lack of tape, scheduling, etc.

Third, some kids come into their own in their senior year. Hounshell is a great example of a player that you might not kill for as a Junior, but you would as a Senior.

Very encouraging premium article on ISD. Talks about ND coaches staying in touch and we are going to be a serious player here. The fact that he kept us in his finalists without having an offer, has visited ND, etc. means we're going to be competitive. I know some people on this board have said we have very little shot here, but I just completely disagree with 3 months to go unti lsigning day.

Him and Odenigbo will both be there. Was rooting for Ohio State, now I'm not so sure.

Per Bucknuts, considering 12 schools:

Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Pitt, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Arizona State, Kansas, Arkansas and West Virginia.

Still has all 5 officials left

Confirmed that the Buckeyes are still in it.

Ohio State and Pittsburgh both visited his high school on Wednesday with Michigan St. and Wisconsin making in-home visits that same day.

seriously or just playing?

Playing. He'd be Irish by 6:30 a.m. if Bob stopped by. The military actually called Diaco some time ago and asked if they could borrow his phrase "I get more done before 9:00 a.m. than most people get done all day".

Picking up Cox would allow us to move Prosise to CB. That would improve our situation tremendously.

Cox figures out weekend plans

Four-star Jeannette (Pa.) safety Demetrious Cox has two visits left and three teams vying for them. Cox decided on one of those teams and visits Tuesday.

On Friday, Cox will officially visit Ohio State instead of Notre Dame and Wisconsin. He originally was planning to visit Columbus this past weekend but went to Penn State instead.

Buckeyes coaches Urban Meyer and Luke Fickell visited with Cox on Tuesday. Penn State assistant Larry Johnson and two other Lions assistants, and Wisconsin assistant Chris Ash and a few other Badgers coaches also visited Cox at the school.

another more recent.

Recruiting Update

PA S Demetrious Cox will be visiting Columbus with his father starting tonight. After he was told to delay his visit last weekend, it seemed like Ohio State was cooling on his recruitment. However, with this visit things seem to be picking up again. Are the Buckeyes targeting a safety prospect? or are they just going after another DB?

And basically I read on a few other sites he got a good vibe from Penn State.
