Don't see why he wouldn't. Not sure why this staff is bullshitting with his offer.

Anyone know how many spots Michigan has left?

Depends on how many EE... should be 2 with zero EEs because they'd hit the 25 cap... from reading their boards it seemed there should be about 5 slots left now (for a total class of 28) but I may be wrong on their attrition.

They'll just push out a few more RichRod recruits if they need the space.

McNamara is unfortunately at a position where ND is loaded. Plus the staff feels very good about Brenamen next year.

I don't think that we're loaded at TE, if Eiffert stays then we have Welch and Koyak behind him. With as much as we rely on that position neither Koyak or Welch is a proven player, I think Koyak will be a stud but both are basically unproven. So how exactly are we loaded at TE?

I completely agree. IMO, we need to start taking the Stanford approach to things. What's wrong with creating mismatches with 2-3 awesome TEs? What happens if Eifert gets hurt?

I think the big problem is our staff really wants some more DBs/WRs/RBs and is focusing on that instead of locking down commits from Kiel, McNamara, etc. I personally don't get it... but w/e...

Is Jake Golic a non factor?
Sorry I forgot about Golic, another TE with extremely limited playing time and injuries. We have bodies at the TE position but are not "loaded". You can never have enough elite TE's especially in our offense.

I personally believe you take the best players no matter who you have on your roster. You never know about development or injuries. If we have the scholarship to offer, you do it and try to bring him in.

TE McNamara chronicles visit
FOOTBALL RECRUITING

As told to ISR Correspondent Tyler James

Senior Taylor McNamara from Westview High School in San Diego, Calif., took the time to document a diary of his official recruiting visit to Notre Dame for the Boston College game. McNamara, a tight end, is still verbally committed to Arizona but is waiting to see what he thinks of the new staff replacing fired head coach Mike Stoops. McNamara's visit to Notre Dame was his fourth official visit of the fall with previous trips to California, Colorado, and Washington.

I received the itinerary for my trip to South Bend on Thursday before the game. Tight ends coach Mike Denbrock helped set up my visit. On Saturday morning, my mom and I flew coach on a five-hour flight to Chicago.

Once we landed in Chicago, a car picked us up and took us to South Bend. We went straight to the Stadium because it was so close to game time.

Walking to the stadium a couple fans recognized me and shouted my name. They said that I should come to “Tight End U.” It was crazy.

The game day atmosphere was awesome. It's a great family atmosphere and one of the best I've seen. The game was surprisingly close but they did their job and got the W.

After the game I went and ate dinner with my player host, linebacker Joe Schmidt, and his family at their condo. The food was awesome. That night I went out with Joe and hung out with Dan McCarthy and his older brothers Kyle and Brian at a house just off campus. Former Notre Dame players Brady Quinn and Ryan Harris were there too. It was cool to see that some of their NFL players come back because they liked it so much and are a part of the ND family.

The next day I had brunch with Coach Denbrock and it was delicious. I can't remember the name of the place though. Then I went on a campus tour that blew me away. We went to all the famous buildings and churches on campus and it felt like I was in a movie. Everything was so nice.

After the tour I had lunch at The Mark in the Eddy Street Commons with recruiting coordinator Chuck Martin. I had a burger there that was delicious.

Next, I got to meet with head coach Brian Kelly for 20 minutes and then each of the offensive coaches. Their message to me was that I can do the same things that Tyler Eifert does in their offense and be the next great tight end to come through Notre Dame.

After those meetings it was time to head home. My mom and I rode in a car back to the airport and flew home. It was the best visit I've been on so far. It met and exceeded all the expectations I had going in. I'm excited to consider Notre Dame before making my final decision.

Getting a visit on Friday per BGI.

Hopefully he'll hear about some room in the class.
