I couldn't agree with you more. The greater Sacramento area has some legit football teams, they are just spread out. Placer is usually good up in the hills, schools like Grant (Shaq Thompson) are more central Sacramento and while Marcus' school is only 4 years old, it is down in South Sacramento, where Elk Grove had absolutely dominant teams for years and years. Athletic football star coming out of South Sac? Color me not surprised at all.

Hopefully his tape gets to the coaches and he receives the offer he apparently is waiting for.

Edit: Forgot to mention Arik Armstead. He's an Elk Grove kid as well. When the housing bubble was in full swing, South Sacramento / Elk Grove was the 2nd fastest growing "city" in America for a year. They built three additional high schools to meet the expected demand. Marcus' is one of these. Had this not occurred, Arik and Marcus could have been on the same Elk Grove Thundering Herd team. Misc. ramblings, but it does go to reemphasize that Elk Grove has some serious football prospects.

Definitely send it as long as he says its cool. I would love to see some more film of this kid. Its got to be a good sign that the coaches are coming to visit him. Considering he's an EE, you figure they wouldn't visit this late unless there was some serious interest.

Nah. All of those guys can play safety. And by "all of those guys" I mean Darby, Tee, and Rios too. So I don't think we'd stop pushing for Poole, etc. But it would certainly take the pressure off.

here is a lil more of our convo

During my 15 an 16 yrs My body was still growing an would sometimes slow my speed training down .Now just turning 17 an my speed training starting next week is going to pay big time this yr .My dad would not let me lift weights till just recently . I do 300 push ups an a lot of pull ups a day . When I get in front of the Strength coach my upside is going to be huge . I have to go now . Neb is awesome for sure top notch academics and facilities Like my dad told coach Denbrock we gonna wait to see ND ..

w/out giving out too much info because not sure what if he didn't want it all out there, his family is very private...but when asked about committing to the irish..he replied

I would take an official without an offer but could not accept without a visit . . If folks is as pleasant as you , with the tradition an education ND has to offer It would be hard to imagine me not a Irish if given an oppurtunity

He should surely visit before committing. I would hope he does it that way. That said, would absolutely love to have him aboard. A real sleeper in this class IMO.

I really hope these kids realize the legacy that would follow them when they are apart of the team that brings the title back to ND.

i posted his senior vids which he sent me prior to being sent to ND coaches...im relaying conversations between us....u can believe what i am writing

and i can say w/ 100% certainty from our conversations now it really is a #1 w/ a backup plan and UCLA isn't in it

Academic support played a big role in Rios’ visit. He spent 45 more minutes with the support staff on his tour. He wants to become an Academic All-American.

The Nebraska visit vaulted Nebraska up to co-favorite status with UCLA. Notre Dame looms but have yet to offer.
