It is Cierre Wood, he made mistake after mistake against USC. He is to old to do the dumb things he did in such a big game.

Cierre did have an awful game against SC, but he's still an electric runner who deserves the bulk of the carries. He might deserve to be in the doghouse after his bad game, but not deep enough that it should significantly take away from his carries

When it comes to game experience he really is not that old at all. He split carries last year for most of the season with Armando Allen, then he started the last , so many, games. This is midway through this season. So realistically he has officially only had one full season of playing time so far.

Someone that young is still bound to make mistakes, he still has two and a half more years to grow and get more experience.

I agree Jonas got alot of support after his terrible fumble Wood needs to get that same support because he has been really good this year.

Cierre was probably in the doghouse a little but he's pretty good isn't he? I think Kelly has to start developing a 3rd option. If someone got hurt we'll only have one back left with any real game experience which wouldn't be good.

Sure if he gained 5 in and cut .15 off his 40 they could be twins lol. He looks a lot shorter than I thought but with the limited action we've seen that balance we RAived about in his HS video is definitely as good as advertised.

Running the ball 60 times is fine if you can score enough points to win. This isn't the type of game where you want to go ultra-conservative and run the ball a ton.

That will just limit the total number of possessions and basically force ND to score a TD on every drive.

I'm still waiting to see two RB's in the backfield with Hendrix....

I'm not implying I'm disappointed by him or don't like him or don't think he'll be good but I think a lot of Irish fans are all over him because he has had 2 kickoff returns for touchdowns and both were very meaningful returns in the context of the games.

But in all honesty he didn't do anything really special in those runs. The keys to those runs were the huge blocks our special teams made for him.

Yes, it's awesome to get 2 special teams TDs in a season let alone 2 from the same player and let alone 2 from a true freshman, but i didn't feel like "wow he's a special player" after watching either of those runs.

He has good vision and very good speed. He doesn't juke or anything. He's no Devin Hester. He just makes one cut and goes.

How in the hell could you claim he is overrated???

He has two kickoff returns for TDs, where we haven't seen that since Zibby and really no other oppurtunity to get your approval. The kid has literally done more than he has been asked to do so far and you think he is overrated.

Let him get some touches at RB and I don't know.. maybe wait two or three years to evaluate whether or not his early hype was justified.

Watching some of these though you can see that even Devin makes very meaningful cuts. God that guy is the best returner ever. Phenomenal.

He got better once he got to the league. In college he juked a lot.
