How many proms are there? If there were 5 proms, and you KNEW that she was going to be going out with 4 other guys, then you're not going to meltdown when she goes on the other prom date (unless you're a loser with no self-confidence).

In your case, you're talking about ONE prom. In Nelson's case, he's talking about taking 5 official visits in all, plus unofficial visits. Face it, the OP was wrong, as are you for saying the board melting down is 'a bit exaggerated'. It's waaayyyyy exaggerated. Give the board a little bit of credit, or just speak for yourself. We all know he's going on other visits; there will be no board meltdown when he does, nor anything close.

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but again, give our board members some credit. We only meltdown when our guys decommit :alcohol:

All I'm saying is that in the end when the schools are all looking at Nelson and ND doensn't get the final rose then I will be in the limo crying.....(my wife loves Bachelor....not me....nope.....a little)

All this talk about his visit going great and he's a ND kid and ND's right there with Florida has my hopes up and will be disappointed he didn't pick ND if that is the case. No meltdown just tears of sadness.

Good update on rivals. I'm on my cell now, but we are in great shape. Could offer a LB prospect from his team as well.

To build on TT, BK and Alford visited him today and spoke to '12 LB teammate Schyler Miles.

NelsonAgh3 via Twitter:

@tshepard08 what's up boi

They undoubtedly met at The Opening, but this is the first time I've seen either of them reach out to the other. Tee's a great recruiter for us, so this can only be a good thing.

Interesting mini-conversation between Arik Armstead and Nelson:

Nelson: @ArikArmstead: yo you need to gimme a shoutout so I can get some SC fans

Arik: @NelsonAgh hahahaha they prolly dont mess wit me no more

Nelson: @arikArmstead why you say that?

Arik: @ NelsonAgh I decomitted

Take what you want from this. It IS twitter but Nelson could be trying to reach out to USC or just trying to get his followers numbers up. And the fact that Armstead told nelson he left USC could bode well for us. They will also be together this weekend with Tee and company. Lets hope it doesn't rain!

I think a lot of these guys didn't even know Tee had a twitter account. He very rarely tweets, and most likely Nelson saw Treggs tweet at Tee.

Probably means nothing.

Will nelson be at the game on Saturday?

I knew he was in SB just last week, but the previous post made it sound like he would be in town again this weekend for the game. Thanks for the clarification.

Obviously no one knows what's going to happen, but if our biggest competition for this young man is Florida, FSU and USC, I feel good about it. FSU just plain isn't very good so far this year and a lot of their problems have been on offense. They look kind of lost out there. So do the fighting Charlie Weises in Gainesville. It's '07 offense all over again for Charlie, and he's currently doing that with players just as dynamic as Aghelor - he's wasting them. USC is USC. It'll help when we beat them.

I think of the four we're by far the best performing offense and the one best primed to continue producing at a high level. USC has all those studs, but they're Barkley-dependent to a fault, and you have to think when he goes, they experience a huge drop off. Meanwhile BK will probably be able to maintain this level of offense pretty much from here on out. The worst it'll ever be was last year with a true frosh.

CW is not wasting any players. They were rolling when he had his senior QB in and one of his star RBs still in. Then he lost his QB AND his back-up QB AND his star RB. Oh, and he had to go against the two top defenses in the nation (with Alabama being mentioned as an all-timer). Soooooo, yeah, you're gonna struggle with your 3rd string true freshman QB playing against the 2 best defenses in the country.

Before that though, he took a QB that no one in their right minds would touch and turned him into more than a serviceable QB. He got the ball to his top 2 players in space and let them do their thing. Their offense was humming (against weak competition of course...that's what FL does).

Do not equate having a poor season to automatic recruiting losses. We got Michael Floyd after a 38-0 drubbing vs USC inthe midst of a 3-9 season. We got Manti Te'o after the Syracuse loss, one of the worst losses in ND history. Agholar could see an offense that is struggling as a sign that they really need him. And FSU and FL are his home state teams. Throw in a school (USC) that he seems to be enamored with (2 cross-country visits on his own dime), and Nelson could pop for a lot of schools outside of ND. And the only school I would REALLY chastise him for is USC b/c of their coach and their situation. But FL and FSU? As his local schools, I wouldn't fault him for that at all. Plus the honies over there are off the chain...

Epitome and GBD talking about Nelson will make people listen. Good Lord, if he committed, we'd be rolling.

FSU mods think its a Florida ND battle. Florida having the slight lead distance might play a factor but loves what ND offers. If he were to sign today i still think its Florida but in home visits and staying on him can change anything.

I sense Nelson is acutely aware of the difference in the degree ND football players walk away with versus the degree Florida athletes possibly (graduation rate/major) walk away with. Oh by the way, there have been 7 arrests of UF players since the new regime took over there.

Just in case one of Nelson's family members stumbles across our board...

Average 30-year return on investment for an undergrad degree from UF: $696,700 (112th nationally)
Average 30-year return on investment for an undergrad degree from ND: $1,384,000 (9th nationally)
Difference: $687,300, or $22,910 per year.

In other words, the market value of a ND degree is roughly double that of a degree from UF.

Actually having a solid o-line, with a good coach and top OL prospects makes kids like Agholor even more enticing to get.

Weis got the position players but never took care of the trenches..

Weis recruited the OL pretty well. We just didn't seem to develop them that much. I seriously think Longo has made a HUGE impact in that area.
