Really? You cant tell me Te'o isnt better than him! Te'o never gets love.

And Burfict!! I have watched him play and he seems to be a lot more bark than bite! I would take Te'o as a complete MLB over him!

I thought Te'o would be on there for sure. I can understand Floyd not being on there, but Te'o is a beast. Check out Brian Hardin's tweet below.

Among inside/middle linebackers, #NotreDame LB Manti Te'o leads nation in sacks/game & ranks 2nd in tackles for loss/game. #HawaiianPunch

Burfict is a beast. PERIOD. The best MLB in college. They is no yards after contact when he hits you and blows up plays in the backfield. Burfict should be there instead of Upshaw. Te'o has had a good season and is playing more disciplined this year instead of going for the big hit.

Burfict is an athletic freak and a hard hitter, but you can't be "the best MLB in college PERIOD" as an undisciplined headcase. I'll take Te'o in my locker room any day. He's far less likely to fight one of his team mates or extend drives with stupid personal fouls.

There's really not an appropriate thread for this, so here you go.

I get that there's receivers that have better numbers than Floyd, but if you're going by numbers why the hell isn't Robert Woods on there? He has better numbers than both of these guys.

Which leads me to believe that it's not all about numbers, and therefore, Michael Floyd got the shaft in this one.

Other than Floyd and Te'o what other position groups do you feel should have had an "Honorable Mention"?

I think possibly Blanton and Wood could squeeze into the honorable mention if they continue to do what they have been.

Floyd not on the list? Hmm... More receptions and yds than Blackmon and Broyles. If youre gonna screw Floyd over, at least put WRs who have better stats than him so far

Yeah, Floyd is second in receptions and fifth in yards among BCS receivers. That's All-American all the way.

Not to mention the best blocking WR in the nation. It's a shame there's no way to quantify that statistically.

No player from a team with more than one loss. It's all ESPN agenda. Anything new?

I agree Floyd should have been on the list. They put 2 receivers from high scoring offenses that have more touchdowns. The only category that either receiver has him beat in.

Exactly!!! Congrats Burfict can hit!! But Te'o can hit, pass cover, and not make mental mistakes.

And really Upshaw? are those stats something to brag about!!

ESPN is so biased against Notre Dame it is painful to watch much of the time. Only Lou Holtz(totally in the tank-gotta love him for that) and to some extent Urban Meyer seems to give us a fair shake when he analyzes or when he commentates. None of the bonehead analysts ever point out how inherently difficult it is for ND to compete with the thug programs of LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama, etc. We graduate more players in one year than some of these schools graduate in a 4 year cycle. Its disgraceful, oh and Desmond Howard can blow me!

Hold on...Upshaw only has 18 tackles? SMH.

I thought that at first too. But he does 8 1/2 tackles for loss though in the SEC. I guess that's what gets him in there. This whole team was basically put together like the NFL's Pro Bowl team-- who are some of the best players on the best/sexiest/hottest teams that we can give an award to...and make it seem to the readers like we're really watching all the games and covering all the teams?

And it pretty much seems like ESPN went to each offensive category on their stats page, sorted by touchdowns and selected their skill position players that way.

10 fewer catches, 20 some fewer yards, one more TD. I guess if you are going strictly by yards per reception and touchdowns only, I'd agree with you.

Well from an ESPN stand point...lol

I haven't watched the other guy play much though so I can't say for certain Eifert is better.

Oh and to add on to what I said earlier: Don't forget that sports writers (through my own observation and investigation as well as their very own admissions about procrastination, love of free food at events, appearances and personal hygiene, and the goods they actually produce) tend to be LAZY people. It's always much, much easier to piggyback off somebody else's work or ideas than it is to actually critically think and develop original ideas on your own.

I'm not saying definitely who is better either. I thought the question was asked who could be included on a second team or honorable mention list? That's really all I meant with Eifert, although his stats compare pretty well.
